@Barbiestylez:

I apologize, but I couldn’t help but to cut in πŸ™‚  They made a beautiful dress but there might be a slight problem with fabric type though.  It should be chiffon ruffles (which is drapey like the original) with lace on the train (also on the back of the bodice), not organza ruffles (which is stiff) with lace.  So any customers who wishes to order this dress from them again please point this out when putting in the order.

I just looked at the dress we have made, and it does not have that harsh line at the end of the bodice either.  The slanted seams at the end of the bodice and lace appliques help this transition, so it is natural for this dress to not have the seam impression at the transition from bodice to skirt/train.

For dresses that have a lot of volume and/or gathers on the skirt, the seam would be quite obvious at the end of the bodice because a lot of fabric is sewn into the seam, but it can be helped with more lace appliques.  The more fabrics the skirt & train has, the more pronounced this seam would appear.  So if the customer requests the train and/or skirt to have a lot of fabrics, then this issue would occur but a lot of customers do not mind it – it is really just a trade off.

I hope you don’t mind me posting here, because there were quite a number of accusations made in this thread, I think it would be fair for me to explain a bit.  Thanks πŸ™‚

@JasmineBridalShop:  I’m not the original poster but I think it’s highly inappropriate and rude  for a vendor to express unsolicited critique on another vendor and diminish Barbiestylez (and many others’) customer experience as accusations. It’s not just Barbiestylez who has had these issues with JBS, and the many photos that show the inability to correct necklines and other revisions as well as your (often rude) rebuttals to customer’s expectations is the reason Bees are looking to move on.

@Nouna_:

Apologies, I wanted to point out the fabric issue to save possible loss for future customers.  Also I have the right to defend some of the accusations that were made towards our company – according to WB’s rules that is appropriate.

Don’t get me wrong though πŸ™‚  We do believe that it is a good thing for more dress makers to step up and fulfill the demand from bees – we always refer a lot of customers to DressilyMe and Fabulous U (until Fab U turned bad), because we alone do not enough resource to serve all the customers who are looking for accurate replica dress – and this would lead to fewer customer complaints and less stress which we want πŸ™‚

I will leave this thread now, please pardon the intrusion.

@Barbiestylez:  Agreed. The dress I got from Jasmine’s was very, very well made–I doubt many other replica companies out there could compare with the craftsmanship. However, I chose Premium craftsmanship and because of that, ended up with a dress I didn’t see until it arrived at my doorstep with the very harsh flare line (not in the pictures of the original dress) which I don’t like, but, which I’m not mad about, because I got what was advertised (a dress 80%ish like the original).

Maybe I’ll be back at Jasmine’s later, who knows! I still have 6 months before the wedding. I am going to try this seller for now because she sends pics of the dress before she ships it, replies to my questions quickly, and she doesn’t charge extra for customizations. I sent her a list of things I want different on my dress, and she seemed totally fine with it. I’ll definitely be back here to review my dress when I get it!

And to answer your question, it’s the Jenny Packham Aspen. πŸ™‚

@Barbiestylez:  Thank you so much for this review.  I was going to purchase with another Etsy seller today but suddenly the store has been closed.  I believe it was closed because they were using designer stock photos.  Still — I’m heartbroken.  I just have one question.  You mentioned that PayPal would protect the purchase but I read that custom orders are not protected.  Do you have other information that confirms that these are indeed protected purchases?  I just want to make sure I know before I order.  I’ve actually already contacted Olive at Cara Bridal about my order.

From https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/paypal-safety-and-security: Purchase Protection does not cover certain kinds of purchases. These include: digital goods (intangible items), services, real estate, motorized vehicles (of any kind), custom made items, travel tickets, industrial machinery (for manufacturing), prepaid cards, or items that violate our policies or eBay’s policies (stuff that’s usually prohibited by law anyway).

@Barbiestylez:  Well — I did it.  I placed my order with Olive from Cara Bridal.  I won’t thread steal but I will post a new thread once I receive my gown to go over the entire process and try to be as helpful as you have been.  Thank you SO much for sharing.  I truly believe it was a sign that the Etsy shop I was going to use closed today right before I saw your post.

Ahhhh!  πŸ™‚

@JJBelle:  After checking out her page again, I see more custom orders which I suspect are the works of some bees here lol. Fingers crossed that they will be able to cope with the sudden surge in orders!

@Barbiestylez:  I am blown away with the quality.  I think I am going to have them make my reception dress.  Is your dress peachy or pinky?  Its hard to tell from the photos.
