So you can use colours that are not gel as long as you seal it with one that is? I’ve never tried gel manicures but I want to since my regular nail polish chips easily. Update if it holds up 🙂

@atreyu547:  Actually I’ve used regular polish in between the gel base coat and top coat. As long as you let it dry FULLY, it’s ok. Worked for me anyway.

@MrsPaulsBabyBallerina:  Thanks for the review.  Your nails look amazing. I’m thinking of getting one for Christmas as it’s such a hassle going to the salon all the time and I can do my own nails just as well.  Love the post!

@MrsPaulsBabyBallerina:  Does the kit come with product to remove the polish? My only problem with shellac is that it is tough to remove!

As far as the range of colors, I sometimes do a clear coat, then paint my nails with some of my own non-gel lacquer and then do a top coat of the clear!  It works well – maybe doesn’t last quite as long but it still works great!

@TammieRei:  I had to buy a separate removal kit with foil wraps and buy acetone remover (which most remover out there is non-acetone). It’s kind of annoying to take off, but much better than peeling it from you fingernails–which I’ve done!–and it takes off a couple layers of nail with it.

@MrsPaulsBabyBallerina:  I L-O-V-E this kit. The polish is pretty and shiny and stays on for a good week/week and a half.

I use the Red Carpet Manicure system and LOVE it.  It lasts a least a week with zero chips.  Sometimes two weeks.  The biggest problem I have is fighting the urge to peel it off.  It really damages your nails when you peel/pick at it instead of removing it the proper way.

Just have to chime in and say I love my SensatioNail stuff. It’s awesome 🙂 I’m a nail polish hoarder (seriously, over 130 polishes and counting). I use regular polish in between coats of clear coat gel polish, but I do have quite a few gel polishes as well.
