Well.. Here is my beautiful ring! I picked it out with my sister at an antique jewelry shop.. It was a little more expensive than I wanted my (engineering graduate student) fiancé to pay for but he is just the sweetest thing ever. It’s special to me because it kind of reminds me of the eiffel tower, and I am a francophile 🙂 I also love the double band.. I don’t think I’m even going to wear a wedding band because I love this ring by itself so much.

Gorgeous ring! Congrats 🙂

Very pretty! I bet it sparkles like no tomorrow. 🙂
Good idea on not wearing a band — wouldn’t want to scuff it up or hide the pretty detailing/diamonds on the side.

Thanks guys!! Good advice about the detailing, a band would hide that.. I justified the elevated cost because it has a double band anyway 🙂

Gorgeous! I’m a sucker for antique rings. Do you know when it’s from?

Wow, that is gorgeous! I think with the two bands it definitely doesn’t need an extra wedding band.

@reginaphalange, I don’t know where it’s from originally, but the shop we got it from is called Levy’s in downtown Birmingham, AL. It’s actually the same shop my father bought my mother’s ring from 40 years ago :’)

you could wear it on your right hand and band on the left (or vice-versa) if you like the idea of having a band!
