@lnadinee: I would not feel bad about the wring the Duchess of Cambridge has a Blue Sapphire so dont think your stone is any less special.
I have a Pink Sapphire and everyone loves it but most importantly I Love it. It is my stone my ring. My husband chose it because I love pink it is my favorite color and even though …specialy here on the bee have heard….welll it is not a diamond…..I dont care. And you should not care either.
if it hurts you I suggest that next time you say something in the line of ‘ I am showing you my ring it is so mean that you talk about x s ring ‘
I am sorry you have to go through this. I have recently undergone this, with my own big sister. I am not a flashy person, do not care for fine jewelry, and I like sentimental stuff and nature. My Fiance got me the PERFECT ring, a .05 diamond stone, and tri-color gold with leaves. I am a social worker, so I also do not need anything flashy.
My sister (she is very well off due to her SO), bugs me about why I did not get anything flashy, how her SO is getting her a massive stone, or why i did not pick big diamonds etc. I finally went a bit off and stated how I do not need something flashy, but need/want something meaningful. Many of my close friends are much more understanding. people just are mean sometimes; does not take away your beautiful and meaningful ring or relationship.
embrace your beauty and what it stands for.
here’s my baby:
You got something unique and gorgeous. Also, in the US, many like the whole diamond thing. Outside of here, people like Sapphires, Emeralds and Rubies.
ALSO!!! Your ring looks like Kate Middleton’s ring (Duchess of Cambridge, married to Prince William). Which ring belonged to Princess Diana. I would be Jealous!!!
