So when I first got my ring it was big on me. I wore a ring snuggie and that was okay but I got tired of having it not fit so I took it to a jeweler and got it sized down. Two weeks later it hardly fits over my knuckle! What happened? Is it wet weather (it’s been raining for 5 days in NJ) or is it the summer months coming? Any thoughts? I ‘d hate to get it resized AGAIN…

Maybe you needed to get it sized a half size down and not a full size?

Do your fingers swell in the summer? I had to order a half size up so that it would still fit in the summer.

With the summer months comes finger swelling. My rings will spin in the winter, but they are perfect in the summer. I would take it back to the jeweler now in the summer to see if there’s a possibility that they can size it a quarter size bigger? That way it won’t be so hard to get it over your knuckle.

When I went in for resizing the jewler advised me to get the next half size up. At first I was adamant about getting the size I thought I was but she asked me to trust her and now that its getting warmer I’m glad I did. There are a number of factors that can make your fingers puffy but heat is a big one. I don’t think it has anything to do with the rain, I’m in NJ too and I haven’t noticed a difference since the monsoon started.

I live right near Haddonfield, and haven’t noticed anything because of the rain….but temperature plays a huge factor on how my ring fits! If I am warm, it’s tight, and in the winter sometimes I am afraid it will slip right off. Also, and I cannot vouch for the validity of this AT ALL, but my jeweler told me not to come pick up my ring after eating chinese food because my fingers would be swollen from, I assume, salt intake? But she did say it… Hahaha…..I have no idea…..

Did it fit you before? I know that when it is humid, my fingers swell up and sometimes I can’t get my rings off.

Thank you everyone! I think you’re right and that it’s because of the humidity. I’ve gotten used to it being a bit tighter and can get it over my knuckle with some twisting. I’ll have to see how it feels in the next few months… worst case scenario I’ll get it a half size bigger.
