Hello, I am sorry if this post sounds dumb. I am not much of a jewelry person and I am from a country were engagement rings are plain or non existant.
My SO got me a ring with a cushion cut center stone (any guesses about the size?, I don’t really care enough to ask but am kind of curious) and two baguette diamonds on the side.
I love the look of the ring but the issue is that it doesn’t seem to fit right. The baguettes are so long… when I put my fingers together the ring shifts slightly sideways and just feels awkward. Or is that just normal and supposed to happen?
What could I possibly do about it? I love the ring… I just wish it was more comfortable to wear….
Thanks for any help!

It seems like the baguettes are making the top of the ring a bit too long for the top of your finger.
Does the ring fit well? Or is it loose on your finger?
I might take it to a jeweler and see what they could do to reshape it.

How loose is the ring on you? It looks like maybe it’s just a little too big of a ring size. A jeweler should be able to fix it for you.
Congrats! And it’s Beautiful!

@KatNYC2011: It fits fairly loose but that is an issue I always have with rings. My knuckles are a lot bigger than the base of my finger and if I go a size smaller I fear the ring wouldn’t pass my knuckle.
Do you think the setting could just be altered? I really don’t want to reset it since I definitely want to keep the actualy ring he proposed with. All of it.

Congrats on your engagement! It’s a LOVELY ring. Looks like about 1ct, maybe a little under. I like the PP’s recommendation….see what a jeweler can do for you. It’s a valid concern. Hope it works out!

Definitely looks too big. I have larger knuckles compared to the bottom of my finger. Don’t worry, the jeweler will know how to resize it so that you can still remove it if needed. Shouldn’t need to get it reset. 🙂

I looove your ring! It’s a real beauty 🙂
I second going to a jeweler, maybe they can put sizing beads in? Basically just a couple of little beads inside the ring to stop it from spinning – it wouldn’t mess with the setting and still make it a bit more snug.

My ring shifts when I put my fingers together too, I have a slightly thicker band…
By The Way I LOVEEEEE YOUR BAGUETTES! If I were to add stones to my radiant cut solitare, I would get these!!! They’re beautiful, and your ring is gorgeous!

Thanks everyone for the respones!
I guess I will really go by a jeweler and see what he can do. The sizing beads might be the best option I think. Since there is a pretty long engraving on the inside I don’t think there is any way to make the band smaller without destroying the engraving.

Goregous. It does look a tad bit big but I am sure the jeweler can do something with it. I have a similar ring, and not completely sold on my small baguettes because i have such large hands (size 9). I thought longer baguettes would look better on me since my fingers are so large. I havent decided if I am gonna change it later.
I had on gray, so my stone looks a bit grayish from my shirt.

@Cakelover: Maybe there would be a way to set the baguettes at a steeper angle so that they don’t stick quite so far out on the sides? See what the jeweler recommends.

I’m guessing it’s a 1.25?

I can’t really add anythng to what others have said, but I just wanted to say that your ring is beautiful, and congrats on your engagement!!

My mum has the same issue as you. Her knuckle is bigger than the base of her finger. she gets 2 little balls soldered on the inside of her ring. that way she can still push it past her knuckles but her rings dont spin around.
Ring is lovely….congrats and your Fiance has fab taste!!!

I have big knuckles and I have the ring fit the finger, so I have to squeeze it over the knuckle….
