I’m not good at taking photos it’s really more lovely and sparkly in person.
It’s the size I’m not used to yet. It makes my normal 1.12 ct sapphire right hand ring look small my finger size is 5. I also noticed a few glances today is that normal?

It’s obviously a real ring but if you mean by ‘fake’ does it look like a diamond then no it doesn’t.
It’s a showy, gaudy and OTT ring which is not usually the ‘norm’ for engagement rings but everyone is different so as long as you love the ring that’s all that matters. It is just not going to appeal to a lot of people.

It is a diamond, what did you think it was?

I love your ring but I didn’t think it was a diamond. I think because it is so large and not your typical engagement ring that is why more people than you would expect are looking at it.
There’s no getting away from the fact that it is a big, ostentatious ring and by far the most common engagement seems to be a simple classic diamond solitaire.
I’m not suggesting there’s anything wrong with either, or indeed, anyone’s choice of ring. I firmly believe you should choose the ring YOU love. However something big and flashy is going to attract more attention.
It’s the same as if you had a purple spiky hairdo – it’s going to attract more attention than a classic brown ponytail.

I think its beautiful! I love pears! I would love a larger pear diamond. Mine is 1 carat and yours is what a 2?..2.5? carats? And then the halo is a large halo. So yes it is very large on your beautiful fingers. With that said, enjoy the ring. If it doesn’t suit you, have the diamond reset in something a little smaller. I have had many many many diamonds/rings/settings over the years. Styles and sizes and wants and finances change. You are not forever committed to the setting or even the center stone if you don’t want. At least that is how I feel, I know a lot of women don’t feel the same way as I do so I am not trying to sound pushy or rude or insulting at all. But if it was me I would enjoy it for a bit and probably have it reset if you ultimately felt it was too big. But I think its gorgeous. It does not look fake to me, it looks real to me there are a lot of women with big diamonds/center stones. It looks big. I would wear it :-)! But I would probably reset it after a year or two lol. Only because that is how I am LOL. But I would probably keep the center stone for a long time because it is stunning! I think the halo is big, but that doesn’t make the ring look anything but beautiful. I think your center stone is stunning!

It does look quite big. It could also be the angle though (you’re bending your fingers so the ring looks prominent). Also the red nails look bold as well so it’s a bold on bold look. I think a neutral nail colour will balance it out a bit, make your fingers look longer (thereby the ring looks proportionally smaller) as well as make your hands look more understated overall. Like I think my ring looks quite big in photos when I didn’t have nail polish and now my nails are growing out a bit and with a neutral pink nude colour nail polish, my fingers look longer and the ring looks proportionally smaller.

It is absolutely gorgeous, but I will admit I thought it was a CZ until you said it was a diamond OP! I will say that pears face up larger than a lot of stones, and it is a longer skinnier pear which may be adding to the fact it looks very large (not that I am saying it isn’t large, but you know what I mean!) Wear it in good health!

I hate to say it but I would doubt its ‘realness’ But it would depend where you were when I saw it, I would absolutely think it was real if you were shopping in Harrods, but if you were shopping in Debenhams I would think it was(a very good) fake. It’s massive and ostentatious but then a ring that size wasn’t ever going to not be!

I think that if you love it, that’s all that matters! It’d be too big for my finger, but I prefer smaller rings. The glances are something that I’ve heard of for all ring sizes and shapes – I think that’s just people’s curiosity.

That is a stunning ring, it must sparkle like crazy (more pics!)
Who cares what anyone else thinks, it’s your ring, you love it and you wear it well, I would love hands and fingers like yours. There is no ‘norm’ for engagement rings, people get what they want themselves, how boring would the ring porn be if it was all one style, one stone?!!
People are going to look, it’s a large diamond and I have to admit I would sneak looks or more probably outright stare if I saw a diamond that size.
Enjoy your beautiful ring.

I love pears! It is huge and it will draw looks because if its size! It is also an usually cut pear in the fact that is length to width ratio is very different to what people typically see so it would draw extra glances for that when people try to work out why it looks a little different. Its a beautiful stone. My grandparents had an almond tree in their backyard and its shape reminds me of a almond kernel. I love it and I love your nail polish with it! Enjoy it and you will get used to wearing something something substantially bigger than your rhr.
Its lovely and congrats!

some of the votes for ‘it looks fake’ are probably because really big rings are more likely to be non-diamond or costume jewelry, and therefore associated with fake jewelry, not necessarily a commentary on the beauty of your ring. don’t get too down about it. just means your ring is a whopper 🙂

I just love It! If you live in the U.K., where I understand the trend is to smaller stones, then I guess it makes sense that it would stand out more. I don’t think it would be at all shocking in a big city like mine (Toronto) where lots of women have large rings.

It’s a flashy ring so I think it’s normal to get glances – it’s a statement look that naturally draws attention. You will probably get some people who assume it’s a cocktail ring. That said, I think it’s very pretty! I don’t think anyone would think twice about it if the center stone were a colored gem.
