I guess I don’t understand what is supposed to be “wrong” with this ring. I see this style often on smaller diamonds, what’s the big deal with a larger diamond? And even if it isn’t a “high quality diamond” it still is huge and surrounded by very nice sparkly diamonds.

Your ring is beautiful. This board tend to be very fickle – one large ring is amazing and awe-inspiring, while another is hated on. I often cannot understand the difference. As long as your ring represents you and your Fiance and you love it, that is all that matters. In another few years, nothing anyone said on a website will matter because YOU will be living with the ring, not them. Personally, I love it, but then again, I am a huge fan of pears (and even, *gasp* marquise cuts) and I love yellow gold.

OP I would be interested in your feelings about the feedback you’ve gotten here…has it changed or clarified your feelings about the ring?

I have short stubby fingers so I find my pear looks big in my even though it’s not… I think your ring looks big but I’m in Texas so it’s pretty common here. I wouldn’t assume it to be fake. I do recommend getting a simple band to wear when this large of ring isn’t practical.

If you love it don’t give anyone else’s opinion a second thought.

It is larger than I would personally wear but thats just a difference in personal preference. You said you love it and that is what matters the most. You will probably adjust to the size over time and soon it will just look normal to you.

anastasiaxo :  everyone has thier own style. I would suggest turning it the other way though, so the point is down, because I feel like your going to seriously reach to move your hair or scratch your nose one day and poke yourself in the eye or something. I can’t tell how high it is from your pics but it’s gotta be at least the depth of the center high. I’m not joking or being an ass either, I used to have a tiny ct wise (like .05 or something idk) promise ring but it was a cathedral illusion setting and I managed to scratch myself with it pretty regularly. I got to choose my engagement ring so I picked something very flat and smooth and no longer have that issue, but I would absolutely injure myself somehow if my ring had a raised point on it like that.
