because it’s in New York and Hurricane Sandy has delayed all orders. I’m sad because I want to start planning my wedding or we aren’t going to get a venue but to be honest I would wait a whole year more to get engaged if I could bring back everyone who died/lost a loved one/lost their home. Life could be worse! So I’ve decided to move on with life (since I’ve already been waiting 5 weeks and who knows how long it will take now) and focus on school, my future, and bettering my life.
Has anyone else experienced waiting just for their ring? Me and my SO are basically engaged but he still wants to ask me when he has the ring so I can’t announce it or plan. How did you deal with waiting when you knew the only thing holding you back was a little tiny ring? It’s difficult but not the worst thing in the world. 🙂

@MissDarthVader: YES! I’m waiting for an online order right now that is delayed because of Sandy too! It’s killing me so I know how you feel. I’m already married so I don’t have the pressures of making it for the wedding but I’m still very impatient.
I hope you get it soon! Waiting is the hardest part.

I’m waiting on my ring. We had to do a custom order and were told that it would take 4-6 weeks. Well I’ve made it through one week but I think about it every single day! I have to wait on a proposal too but I think it will end up happening in Jan. I hope!
Being patient is hard, but waiting on the ring is way betting than waiting on a guy to decide if he wants to buy the ring!

Oh, it’s so sad you have to wait! My hubby and I just bought a ring to “upgrade” and the setting is special ordered from NYC. The jeweler is telling me December 15th. Oh well, could be worse!
By The Way, I am from the South and when the tornadoes hit last year a lot of weddings lost their venues. Literally. Somebody started a drive on FB to gather bridal gowns for the brides who’d lost theirs in the storm. There was such a huge response they started gathering gowns for the ladies in Joplin, MO, who’d had a terrible tornado a month before. My daughter and I sent her gown to Joplin.
You have great attitudes! Hang in there, everybody, and before we know it we’ll all be posting pics of our gorgeous rings!

So sorry! I didn’t mean to hijack the thread. My sincere apologies!

@Mrs Canuck: I hate waiting girl. As we all do. But the tragedies that happened over there are so much worse 🙁

Why don’t you just book the venue now if you’re dead set on Oct 2013?

- Wedding: October 2014 - Disney
My ring was delayed a couple of times. Once for a fractured stone which we then had to choose a second center stone, and once for the casting of the wings breaking. In the end everything was worth it and I couldnt be happier with the final product.

@MrsWBS: My SO doesn’t seem too interested in doing that. He would rather wait. I told him then that’s fine but he gets to plan the whole thing then, lol! 🙂

YES! Waiting on James Allen to send me ASET images and whichever one we prefer we’re buying. I am bummed but honestly the storm was so bad up there they have more important things going on. When people have died, and are living in flooded homes and without power.. it really puts the ring into perspective. The waiting it tough though. Good luck and congrats on your engagement soon!!
