bklyn18 :  😘😘. I know what you mean about driving you crazy! You get your heart set on something and when it’s not right it’s very annoying! I think you are thinking in the right direction of just sitting on it for now and see how you go. You can always have it amended if you need to. I just love it!! So stunning!! Wear it in good health and keep posting that beauty! X

1) I personally agree with many PP that your ring is gorgeous!

2.) That really is irrelevant here.

YOU wanted a thicker halo than band. You told your jeweler that, and they messed up. If what you TRULY want is the thicker halo, definitely, reach out to them and arrange for them to email you an overnight shipping label so that they get started rectifying the situation.

The guy who decided on the mm width of the halo should have done things proportionally, like you said. Your center stone was larger than the inspo ring, so he should have upped the mm width of your halo accordingly.

In your shoes, I would ask the stone mm width used for both your current band and the current halo, then I would dictate the exact mm widths you want in the remake.

So, if they say your band has 1.6mm stones (for a 1.8 mm total band width) and your halo has 1.4mm stones (for a 1.6mm total halo width,) I would request that they use 1.8mm stones for the halo (for a total halo width of ~2mm.)

One thing to consider is that your price may go up and you may need to pay the difference, since 1.8mm melee are more expensive than 1.4mm melee.

bklyn18 :  You’ll also want to check their policy on returns and remakes. They may stipulate that they need to hear complaints within 24 or 48 hours of reciept of ring, for instance.

The oppsite thing happened to me. My fiance and i wanted a delicate halo but ended up with a chunkier one. But i gave it time to see if it would grow on me and unfortunately it still wasnt quite “perfect”. So we are taking it in to get altered.  Some people say that you will grow to love it and i deffinately agree with them!! I did love it and was super proud, But it still didnt feel quite right. If you do decide to change it, i found it best to wait till the excitement wore down because then nobody notices or cares πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

It’s beautiful! I love it, but I know that feeling…so if you feel like it’s not 100% exactly what you wanted, might as well send it back to be fixed now then you don’t have to think about it anymore.

bklyn18 :  They should be able to show you images of rings like yours that they’ve done in the past and tell you the mm size of the center stone, the mm size of the halos and bands, etc. Or at the very least show you a CAD with a few different mm width for you to choose from.

Hopefully, they will work with you to come up with a solution!

I’m not usually a halo girl but your ring is absolutely stunning!! However, as PP’s said, you are the one who has to love it. I would (if time and your jeweler’s policy allows) sit on it for a couple of days and see if the smaller halo starts to grow on you. If it just keeps bugging you, have your jeweler correct it.

I MEAN WOWZA- that is a beauty! But I agree with your assesment, the halo is either the same size or slightly smaller than the band.
