Whirlwind03 :

I think you tagged the wrong person. I didn’t say anything about the x-ray. As long as the OP and her fiance paid for it, I think that is fair. I do not agree with making the dog vomit though.

Honestly?  I think freaking out about the cleaning lady is.. well.. a bit much.  The number of times my parents cleaning ladies have found my lost jewelry is.. many.  A fresh set of eyes is always helpful.  It would have been good if they’d told her before she started cleaning to keep an eye out for the ring, of course, but aside from that..  I really don’t see the harm.

If SIL and Brother-In-Law are innocent (which I think is a very real possibility we’re not taking seriously enough) then I feel bad for them, too.. as if houseguests weren’t enough work, this particular visit is taxing them even after the guests are gone.  I don’t blame OP and her hubby for pushing them to look for it at all costs, but I don’t blame them for getting a little sick of it.

while I understand why OP is upset if I were in the brother and SIL place I’d search on the day but won’t keep on turning the house upside down for it

Did they take the elbow off the bathroom sink and look – just in case you did leave it there and it fell in?

The mystery of it would drive me crazy! So sorry this happened.

I had a friend who lost her ring at another friend’s pool and they ended up getting a  new one. About three years later the people were having construction work done on their pool and moved a bunch of rocks surrounding the cool decking and  someone found the ring!

IDK unless the stopper is in and drain is always closed a ring could slip down. I lost an earring that way and luckily it got caught up in the elbow. It is a quick thing to take off the pea trap and look. If u think there is a chance u left it on the sink it may be worth asking.

sunnierdaysahead2 :  Thank you so much for the update. Im so sorry this happened to you. I had a friend who lost her entire set because it was sautered together-engagment ring and 2 half eternity bands, at work (washed her hands and left it on the sink) and the insurance was enough to her a canary yellow diamond ring and 2 additional bands. Im happy you are able to at least get another ring. Please post pics when you do! Bless you.
