leanore :   I think your ring is beautiful!!! I favor princess cuts so I didn’t care about it showing smaller but it wasn’t something I was aware of until I really started paying attention to diamonds/settings. I have a 1.01ct center diamond on a large finger.

It’s also a size 7.5 finger – so compared to many people here with size 4 or 5 fingers, yes, the diamond is going to appear smaller because it doesn’t cover as much of your finger.

Princess cuts face up smaller and your ring size being 7.5 also makes an impact on the appearance. Smaller finger sizes make diamonds appear larger and larger finger sizes make diamonds appear smaller. If that same diamond was placed on someone with a size 5 finger, it would probably look how you expect.

I have to agree with the others – princess cuts definitely show smaller because the weight is in the bottom.  I had really liked a princess solitaire when I was trying on rings.  The one I liked was about 2 ct, which looked like the size of a 1.5ct round on my finger.  My Fiance picked a round for me, but not because of the size.

I think it looks like the size you say it is.

Do you know what the dimensions are? Diamdb.com will compare your specs to other diamonds of the same ct. And shows you the difference in the faceup value.
