Mine was stamped, but after it was resized the stamp was gone. I’ve kind of wondered this myself…

Why would the stamp matter?  That just means no one put a stamp in it.  Darling Husband and I make jewelry and we don’t have any stamps.  If I ever purchase some stamps to stamp our pieces, it would be for the customer’s peace of mind.  The stamp does not change the truth about the materlal.  Of course, right?  In theory you could stamp a metal inaccurately, but a good jewelry should be able to tell what metal it is.  So in other words, the stamp doesn’t mean too much.

Mine says 10% IRID PLAT but it is an old ring.  Like PP said the metal can be tested and if you have a certificate then it shouldn’t matter.

@weddingstress:  The only stamp you would have is for the metal in the setting.

We found workshops where we can make our own rings. To Hallmark (stamp a ring) it needed to be sent away and it’s a paid for service which costs extra. Without it, I don’t think it would hold as much resale value and if it was passed on in family, it would be difficult to trace. You can always ask for it, but expect to pay. The sooner the better too cos there may be a time limit I’m not sure.
