@FutureMrsRoos:  +1. Rub all around your coat and feel for a hard ring shape!

@nearlymarriedlass:  wow, how horrible!

and just bc I’m a cynical person, let staff and police know, that the ref knew where the ring was. I know I sound mean, but seriously, why was your jacket the only one tampered with? surely it wasn’t the only personal item on the sideline.

@cheetah2b:  Agreed.  And who else knew that she was even wearing the ring that day?  OP, do you remember who might have seen you wearing the ring and putting it in your jacket pocket?  Even if they only saw the ring and not you putting it in your jacket pocket, they might have been able to put two and two together to realize that putting the ring in your jacket pocket was one of the only places that you could have possibly put it.  Who saw you wearing the ring?

You should check your local craigslist listings and see if anything shows up.  File a police report with a picture of your ring.  Check local pawn shops, etc.  Maybe you’ll get lucky and find it!

@SoobySays:  That is so bizarre!! I’m assuming they weren’t random break-ins then. Perhaps a mad old relative? So sorry they took all your grandmother’s old jewels.

OP, I would do as SoobySays and have a good search in all the pawn shops nearby. That’s where many theives sell their goods. Hope they get caught for what they did and you get it back!

like others have said, you have short window of time…

1. call police (police can put your ring description in a program called leeds, if diamond as serial # doesnt the leo diamond have one? some fancy ones do) if ring is pawned and gets hit, they are notified)

2. did anyone see you put ring in jacket, does place have cameras? sign in sign out sheet?  can you remember who all was there?

3. call pawn shops, check craigs list to see if ring is up for sale.

4. stay calm, tell Fiance, things happen, you will be okay and get through this.  time is of the essence so get moving!

5.  When and only when you have the time, let us know how you are doing with an update!

Good luck and I’m sending prayers your way!!!

@MeelaMay:  You’d think so, but they took all of or electronics as well. Just a rash of break-in in our area.

@nearlymarriedlass:  He told you to take it off in front of people?  I can understand why he told you to take it off, but why did he force you to do it in front of anyone else?  That seems mighty fishy to me!
