I got engaged in August w/o a ring, and Fiance and I ended up custom designing one together (okay, okay, I did most of it!) through the Natural Sapphire Company. It should be shipping out tomorrow! Eeek! I can’t wait!
Here is the rendering the ring is based off of:
When I went and tried on rings in person, I fell in love with several things: 1. delicate pave’ split shank rings 2. tiny trillion cut diamonds on the sides of a round center stone and 3. asymmetrical designs. By custom designing my own ring, I got to have all those components in one ring. Yay!
As for the stone, it actually doesn’t look that similar to the photo in person, imo. (I previewed it before buying). If you shrink the NSC’s image down, it does, but blown up like that ^^ makes it appear a lot different than to the naked eye (obviously). In person, the color looks very evenly distributed and it’s a light silvery blue under artificial light while a pure aquamarine color in sunlight. I know darker blue sapphires are the most valuable, but I just love the light colored Montana sapphires (and so does FI), so that’s what we got.
AHHH I can’t wait until it gets here! Thanks for listening to me do my girly thing. 😉

I also have a sapphire! Yours looks beautiful! I initally chose a ring from the natural sapphire company, but my husband was too suspicious of getting a ring from online. How was the process for you?

Oh my goodness, I just posted asking about Montana sapphires. Your ring is gorgeous. Post photos of it on your hand when you get it!

@Broken Biscuit: Thanks and yay! Can I see a pic of your ring?
Thank you! I want to see a pic of your sapphire, too, if I may. 🙂 The process has been great so far. Livia was very helpful even though I asked her about 10 questions a day over 2 weeks, haha. She kept making me new renderings with tiny adjustments and sending me measurements and everything only a few hours after I would ask, which made me much more comfortable with the idea of purchasing online. Hopefully it comes out as expected! I’ll update this post with more pics and information when I can. 😀
Thanks so much! I saw that you posted about Montana sapphires just a few minutes ago. How funny and coincidental! I’ll def. post real pictures when it gets here!
Thank you so much! When you have a so-called “nontraditional” ring, those kinds of compliments really mean the world. 🙂
