Why do you have to be so beautiful and tempt me so? I don’t even know how much this dress costs nor have I tried it one. I’ve only begun my dress search. This one just makes me starry-eyed. It doesn’t fit with any of the plans we have been talking about so far (though not all finalized) including the little church ceramony and the picnic reception. I can just see myself having a fun little masquerade themed shindig with DIY masks, but I can imagine my staunch conservative in laws disapproving those decision. How dare she be non-traditional? Harumph! Harumph!

There’s a red dress very similar to that one on houseofbrides.com for $1,100.
I think that dress is really fun. I’m sure you could rock it.
On another note, what part of MO are you from? I know there are a few StL girls on here.

Kirksville, actually. Though I’m attending University on the other side of the state. My FH and I are looking a tiny church in Kansas just outside of St. Joseph for the venue. It’s his mother and grandmother’s church.

Right on. I have a bunch of friends that go to NW MO State and Central MO State, as well as Truman.
I’m an StL girl, m’self.

I’m a proud Bearcat. Especially after this year’s NCAA Divison II championship!

aw, I think a masquerade would be great!
If you’re really worried about people freaking though, you could still rock a similar dress in white, ivory or even gold 🙂

That’s a beautiful dress! How much do you think people would flip if you didn’t wear white? Everyone I know would think it’s weird, but they’ve come to expect at least that from me! I’m definintely sure you can find something similar in white if it’s really that big of a deal!

I love that dress. I agree with the above comments about wearing the dress in white or ivory.
Ps. I’m from Kirksville!

Blew the unfinalized plans! *grin* If you like this dress and it fits you, I think the DIY masks would be a great way to make it all different (oh an unusual wedding, what a precious comodity!!!!). You would need a venue with a ballroom though 😉 I’m thinking along the lines of “eyes wide shut” (not the plot, the costumes and venues!). Would be better for a winter wedding though.
