Yesterday I was very upset about this project. I literally spent all day crouched over my Aunt’s 1980s veil, taking it apart, dying it, sewing it onto clips, and then attaching 200 crystals with my iron. Ultimately, I was proud with the results. When my mom came home, I showed her, and she had NO reaction. So, when I asked what was wrong with it, she told me that it was the wrong colour and was ‘too brown’. While I’m hoping it is the right colour, if that is the only problem, I’ll just dip it in some Oxy-clean quickly and see if that brightens it up slightly… what is the harm in trying right?
Is it too brown? Is it OK otherwise? I think ultimately i’m going to have to drag the veil into the dress shop and see them together…

And the veil – sorry for the crappy photos, this thing was HARD to photograph. And please ignore the ugly post-work lougning outfit hehe. I’m wearing white to try to give you SOME idea of colouring.

Sorry you can’t really see the crystals… in person they don’t really show up, but they catch the light and sparkle when the veil moves

OMG love the dress and the veil!
I think they are both stunning and I wouldn’t change a thing.

I don’t think it looks “brown”, but definitely take it and hold it up next to your dress (which is FABULOUS by the way).

I don’t think it looks brown at all

When I read brown I was thinking it was going to be brown, but I don’t see that at all! Even compared to your white shirt it doesn’t look brown. I think it looks great and I wouldn’t change anything!!!

Thank you guys! I’m definitely going to try it on with my dress before making a final decision. I definitely don’t think its too brown either, but my mom had such a strong negative reaction!
