So I’m getting my butt up and heading out to the nail salon this morning. I usually wear shellac for about 3 weeks, it never chips but by three weeks it starts lifting a little around the cuticle area and then I feel the need to pick. Oh, and I like my nails very short, so these are insanely long right now. I pretty much always wear pink or red. But I’ve been really admiring some of the nail posts on here lately, so I’m leaning toward navy or nude. Polar opposite colors, but I really like both looks.

I am usually a red or pink person too, but I’m loving the nude colors. It feels like spring to me.
5 weeks is insanely long! I never had mine on for more than 2 1/2 weeks. The growth between the cuticle drives me crazy.

Personally, I did shellac once… and will NEVER do it again.
It ruined my nails… dried them out so badly.
It took me close to a year for my nail beds to recover … which was very painful… cracking, splitting, chipping etc… because it just so happened to be my toe nails that I had done while I was on a cruise vacation.
Nope, I’ll be sticking with regular old nail polish from now on !!
Hopefully, you won’t have these same issues in that you’ve left the product on so long.

Oooh, I would do navy! Get the dark color out of the way while it’s still ‘winter’! I really prefer dark polish anyway.
I’m super jealous…I can’t wear any kind of nail polish at work, so it’s only worth it to me to paint them when I have at least 2 days off in a row!
