I ordered my shoes today! LOOOOVE them, it was so hard to find shoes the right height for my dress that I really liked.
Anyway, they are dyable, and I fully intended on dying them a really bright vibrant blue blue, but my wedding is outside, and they are bound to get a little wet from the grass. I have read today that any bit of water can ruin dyed shoes…is this true?
Can I spray it with a water resistant spray and they will be fine?
Anyone dye shoes for an outdoor wedding? (our reception is tented but on grass too, so it will be all day and night out on the grass)

I would be worried if you didnt dye them that they would turn green and brown from the grass anyways. I wore some white satin shoes for easter and I was only on the grass for a second and the heals are brown now.
I say go for it!!! Check out a shoe taylor by you and see what they say about the dye coming off! If you dont you prob. will have ruined shoes anyways.

Hi, I looked up an article that you might find interesting. It tells you that dyable shoes are water soluble, meaning that they could bleed or stain in the rain, but you can apply a water repellant, and it should be fine.
Here is the article:

Dying is not a good idea if you think they are going to get wet. Had dyed red shoes for a wedding one time (as a bridesmaid). They turned my feet red and ruined the shoes.
Btw. Where did you find these shoes?

I think those shoes look great! I wouldn’t dye them, especially since your wedding is outdoors! After an hour or so on the grass you should probably kick off your heels anyway 🙂
