I unexpectedly got my period just before we opened gifts, and I was wearing a white dress.
I had to ditch my guests for 20 minutes while my Maid/Matron of Honor and I grabbed an extra pair of underwear from her car (she’s a volunteer rape advocate, so she had them by chance in her kit), changed into them in the parking lot, then had to go back inside to the bathroom to clean up. By some miracle, nothing got on my dress, but my guests were waiting for us to start opening gifts. Luckily Fiance was there, so he kind of kept things moving until I was able to rejoin the party. No one was the wiser, and my dress stayed in tact, and the shower went on after that without a hitch! Thank goodness!

@ruby26: OMG… that must’ve been a little nerve wracking! I am glad everything continued as usual with no one being the wiser! Yay for Fiance being there to keep the party alive

OHHHHH, I feel for you!! 🙁 Thank goodness everything turned out ok! Now, let’s just not have that experience on wedding day!! 😉

I totally thought you were going to say that no one showed up! That is my greatest fear on shower day…but your situation definitely wasn’t a walk in the park. I am glad that you worked it out so secretively! 🙂

@MadTownGirl: I know!! My Maid/Matron of Honor said “I’ll have to remember to add underwear to the just-in-case kit”. Who would’ve known I’d have to consider that?! That, and my mom got on my case about possible restarting my birth control right before the wedding to make sure I don’t get my period then. Ugh. stupid unpredictable period.
