Uhhhhh, no offense, but instead of you being home holding him, you need to take the poor thing to the vet.  Making little puddles of blood would be the red flag for the vet for me.  I would call and make an appt for this evening. I hope he’s gets better.  Keep us posted.

@PrncessDva- So sorry your fur baby is sick. I hope he gets better. The blood sounds serious and I’m glad you are getting him to the vet!

Yes, the blood is the concern. He needs the vet. Also, is anyone home with him? Is he crated and lying in his excrement? He’s also in great risk of becoming dehydrated.

My pup randomly had that out of nowhere a few years ago. We went straight to an emergency vet and they had to not only culture and test him, but give him fluids under his skin.

Not sure what kind of job you have, but I would ask if you can leave and work late or make up time tomorrow to take him to the vet… he REALLY needs to go ASAP.

I would definetly be worried about the blood.  Our dog did that and she died the next day of an autoimmune disease.  I hope you dog isn’t that bad.

Oh no, that’s not good!  I’d totally be preoccupied at work too, maybe you can leave early?  I hope he’s alright!

I would be really concerned. If you can, leave work early and take him into the vet ASAP. Even if it is not a big deal, it’ll give you peace of mind.

It can actually be a wide host of things, which is why the sooner he sees a vet the better. It could be a simple thing he just needs antibiotics for (and hydration) which needs to be started ASAP or it could be something pretty serious. There’s really no way to know until they test and culture him…

Mine had a simple thing (don’t really remember what exactly) but they had to hydrate him, give him a shot of some immediate meds and gave him a prescription. as he was already severely dehydrated… and we were at the vet within 2 hrs of it happening. We had to get from the north end of the eastern shore in the middle of nowhere back to civilization on the 4th of july for it.

Oh, we also had to give him a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice for a while.

MissAsB – I’m sorry to hear about that! Yes, regular diarrhea sucks, but blood = serious and needs attention ASAP.

You’ll feel better. You can always leave him for the day at the vet and pick him up after work, or if it isn’t serious like mine’s was… the meds they give him will help pretty quick and you can probably come back. If it IS more serious than mine had they will want to watch him anyways…

It will give you much more peace if you just leave for a few and work late later…. if that’s possible.
