MsGinkgo:  I think both of those ideas are great! I’ve been trying to decide what to do with my bouquet, too . . . after seeing the bloom in resin, it makes me think about getting some fresh flowers from my bouquet and putting them in resin – so that it looks the way my bouquet did the day of the wedding 🙂 it would make a beautiful presentation in the gift box, too – one version of the bouquet caught in time, and the other a memento 🙂

MsGinkgo:  I was just looking in to those resin flowers – have you worked with resin before? It’s such a lovely idea! I agree, I think fresh would look much never than dried in the resin.

You can layer the petals in bath salts

MsGinkgo:  if the paper is 100% dry you shouldn’t have a problem. The flower paper with photo we made has held up fine for three years now.

If you are worried maybe you can mount the photo to acid free paper and place that on top of the flower paper. Or….if you are really worried maybe you can place a piece of plastic wrap (syranwrap) between the homemade paper and photo before you frame it. A layer of plastic wrap shouldn’t show once it’s framed.

MsGinkgo:  Ooh, I also kept my BIL’s wife’s bouquet for her, and just gifted the whole thing to them as a dried bouquet for their first anniversary.  But I love your ideas of making a keepsake – the ornament is a fabulous idea!

I did the petals in the ornament and I like how it turned out. Just make sure the petals are totally dry first…learned that the hard way lol. It grows mold otherwise fyi!

I also made a shadowbox out of DH’s boutineer which turned out nice.
