Two options- 1. They can suck it up and wear the dresses or 2. All of you go shopping and buy something off the rack. Bitching about it now doesn’t solve anything.

Sashley :  Do they each own another dress that would work well enough for your wedding, that they could wear instead?

I would look into rent the runway! It would likely be cheaper than buying a new dress off the rack.

Sashley :  Your sister’s comment makes absolutely no sense.  She thinks the dress would’ve fit better if she’d ordered it sooner?  Or that ordering it sooner would’ve allowed for alterations…but she didn’t try the dress on until a month after she got it?

“Typically when I win a game of darts you’re supposed to high five me, and pizza has pepperoni on it, so of course Purple Turtleneck, it’s all your fault.”  Crazy talk.

Call a regular tailor. You have three weeks, unless the alterations are major you still have plenty of time, seems possibly more likely your sisters won’t want to pay.

Buy off the rack in a similar color. It’s one day, focus on the more important things!

I think it depends a lot on how ill fitting they are. Is it like, a little too tight but with some shapewear and a little tailoring we’ll be in business, or wow this dress is 4 sizes too small, her thigh won’t fit in it nevermind her booty?

If it is the former there is totally time to fix it to the point where they will feel great. If it is the latter, I am so sorry bee, what a shitty situation!!! I’d be pissed.

Can you post a photo of the original dress? And are they both in standard “misses” sizes? Maybe we can find some off the rack alternatives.

3 weeks if plenty of time for alterations, if you can find a seamstress.  Otherwise, I’d go buy something off the rack.

I would talk to a tailor before stressing out too much. I was recently a Bridesmaid or Best Man in a wedding and I wore a dress that I ordered before I knew I would be 8 months pregnant at the time of the wedding. I was growing so fast that they had me get alterations less than a week before the wedding. I know it’s not the same situation but I do know the stress of wondering if there would even be enough material to let out. But…it can be done!

They sound like brats. They should go to a tailor or seamstress ASAP and see if anything can be done. If that doesn’t work, maybe if they get the same dresses in a similar color & style it will look like they’re purposefully mismatched from the rest of your bridesmaids?
