@Wannabee Mrs.G.: YES YES YES! I, too, have this cursed “sixth sense,” but my predictions are always wrong wrong wrong! This just happened to me a couple days ago! And it’s happened a few times before that, and I always feel really dumb when I think he’s going to do it, and it never happens :/

Yep I was FOR sure about 3 weeks ago and it never happened.  The one time I’m sure he had the ring and then didn’t for some reason.  Now I think he’ll make me wait a while UGGG!

@Wannabee Mrs.G.: lol yes! When SO told me that we were going to need reservations for our 2 year anniversary I prettied myself up (complete with manicure!) and nothing. Turns out we never needed a reservation anyway cause the restaurant was kinda quiet lol

@annasaf83: OMG! That sounds JUST like me and my BF’s 2 year anniversary! We made reservations at a nice restaurant downtown, got there, and we were the only ones there, other than people at the bar. I even curled my hair (which does NOT curl) that night, and the day came and went with no proposal.

I kept thinking my Fiance was going to “officially” propose before we got the ring. I have a big imagination and my thoughts were going wild.

We went to a park with a little lake for no reason and he was saying sweet things to me. And these clouds at sunset looked like the shape of a heart. It was cute and I seriously thought he was going to ask me, but he said he wanted to wait until my ring came in…and it was perfect! I knew he was proposing when he finally did (my grandma spilled the beans), but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

He just wanted to make everything special and though-out because that is just who he is and I love that about him ๐Ÿ™‚

I know.

I feel/secretly wish he would propose around christmas time, but most ikely I have that failing 6th sense as well :-/

We’ve been together for 3 years, and I couldn’t ask for anything more.. anywys, although I haven’t had a failed proposal day expectation, I’m pretty sure i’ll be a part of it rather soon.

Although, I’m usually not a pessimist… maybe I’m just trying to ease the potential disappointment.

I’ve only had one time when I thought it would happen and didn’t, but even then I wasn’t convinced.  It was my birthday and turned out my family were organising a surprise party, no wonder he was acting strange, he was trying to delay our return…

Last year aropund this time I was convinced it was going to happen at any time. I was pregnant and got it in my head that I really wanted to be engaged before the baby came. So my birthday rolled around and i thought for SURE that was it……nope. To make matters worse, Some 18 year old mcdonalds employee came into my store the next day bragging about how she got engaged yesterday (my birthday). I felt so angry at her for no reason (other than hormones I guess) and jealous that she got what I wanted and I felt like I deserved it more than she did….but oh well ๐Ÿ™‚

Christmas, new years, valentines day all came and went with no proposal. I psyched myself up and was really disappointed each time. It took some time to finally admit to him how much I had wanted it, but there were more important things to deal with at the time.

So fast forward to this year and he tells me the time is now. He’s working extra, we picked a ring, and now I start the whole thing over again…my 24th birthday is coming up, then christmas, then new years you see where I’m going with this? Lol, at least this time I’m waiting for something that I KNOW is going to happen!

@annasaf83 Ha! If I had a dollar for every time I got a manicure thinking it was totally going to be that day…well…I could prob just buy my own engagement ring! ๐Ÿ™‚

I keep getting this feeling my SO will propose but never happens! And like you it can be this completely random place like a car park, everywhere would be special for me! lol

I have had 2 occasions in the last week!  And I know he isn’t going to propose yet but I can’t help think of how perfect it would have been!  On thursday we had a date night….went to Outback for dinner, when we got home I went in the bathroom and when I came out he had “Marry Me” from train playing and asked me to dance (it’s the first song we ever danced to and we dance like high schoolers), and he let me pick a chick flick to watch (which I let him pick between Ever After and The Wedding Planner…he chose Wedding Planner HAHA).  It was a great night and I’m certainly not disappointed at all because I know I was thinking silly thoughts but…it would have been a good opportunity!  He is pretty romantic so i’m guessing when the time actually comes it will be pretty special!  I think these are the first of many engagement scenerios!

Im lucky in that respect as he has told me where we are going when we get engaged and from that i almost know the date! hes terrible at keeping sectrets plus we live in each others’ pockets so it was hard keeping anything from me! also, we pool our money together so its easy to tell when a lot has been drawn out! i dont feel like its ruined my surprise at all, i can get excited about it plus i know that we will be engaged before christmas this year which will be lovely! but hang in there girls, ive been waiting almost 4 years!!
