Have you had this kind of facial before?  I’m guessing you haven’t and I would not try anything new right now.  Don’t get any more facials.

Second: you have about a month- I’d look at makeupartistschoice.com and contact them via phone about an at home series of peels, or a peel, you can start on very soon to get you looking good for the wedding.  They’re highly regarded and they have fabulous reviews on makeupalley.com and are known for giving great and personalized advice.

I’d also go to the makeupalley boards and ask for advice on their skincare board.  I used to have horrific skin so I know what you’re going through. I really think the makeupartistschoice people would help to steer you in the right peel direction.  Good luck and keep us posted on what you end up doing.

I went on accutane a little over a year ago and had baby butt smooth skin after. About two weeks ago my skin had a MAJOR breakout out of no where. I woke up one morning and had 8 huge cysts on my chin (i posted about it too). Anyways …. I decided to try proactive… I started 6 days ago and it is completley clear! Its amazing. Its worth a try. My sister was acne prone too (she is 25) and it completley has cleared up her skin as well. I am just amazed at how quickly it worked.

breakouts like that is normal for people that are new to facials. or if you havent had one in a long time.

Vitamin D3 and zinc gluconate tablets worked for me. D3 makes my skin much less oily, and zinc helps existing pimples heal so much quicker. I had horrible skin and started taking these a few months before my wedding and my skin was clear. I stopped after the wedding and my acne returned. I’ve started taking them again and my skin is now clear again.

I discovered it by accident after a routine blood test revealed I was vitamin D deficient!

Whatever you do, do NOT dry out your skin with tons of masks and toners. Use a gentle exfoliating toner (such at the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner) and keep your skin hydrated with a non-irritating moisturizer (no perfumes, organic). And do not pick!

I have heard that zinc is incredibly helpful, but apparently it also makes you feel very sick if you take it on an empty stomach, so be careful of that.

This may sound weird but I wash my face with honey! I have acne prone, sensitive skin. The honey is mild on my skin and keeps it soft and smooth. And it is great for getting rid of acne! Anyways I know it is odd, but it works for me. Best of luck 🙂

i got these things on amazon called Cover-Dot Acne care. Theyre just little stickers that go over pimples and help bring the bad stuff out. I have super senstitive skin too and these dont irritate it at all. best of all, they help keep them from being painful/you accidentally picking at them.  Try one at night and take it off before work, usually one night is all it takes to spot treat.

OP-  No, I don’t think it’s good or normal to break out after having facials.  I really wouldn’t do them right now.

I have incredibly incredibly sensitive and acne prone skin. Most moisturizers and foundations give me really bad acne! I have tried everything and these are the two products that work so well for me.

1. first aid beauty ultra repair cream

2. skin food black sugar mask

whenever i use these i get the best clear skin of my life!

llcoolray:  the facial probably stimulated cell turn over, bringing all of the yucky stuff from under your skin to the surface.

I sell Rodan + Fields, I finally got my skin under control with their products. The struggled with sensitive skin and adult acne for YEARS and this is the only thing that helped me. Sensitive skin trumps all other issues and should be addressed first. The facial may have been to harsh as well. Message me and I’ll be happy to walk you through a one minute skin consultation.
