I love the theme! It’s subtle enough that I can’t imagine anyone having a problem with it but it still sounds like it represents you. There are several comic book themed weddings on offbeatbride, if you’re looking for more inspiration.

I think your ideas are so cool! I love those SHOES!!! I have to second the hesitation on the pearl necklace though. I’m not sure it would work with the halter. The earrings are great though ๐Ÿ™‚ the cuff links are rad!! And I love the invite piece.

if it’s what you like, go for it!!!!

Definitely does not seem like too much! Your ensemble and his look very classy and so does the Maid/Matron of Honor dress. I think you’re incorporating it nicely without having it taking over.

I read the topic and I though it was going to be cheesy but your ideas are awesome. Themed, but not over the top. You MUST post a recap after your wedding!!

Also, do this. It is just SO COOL

    I totally get it!

I think your ideas are great!  You are using interesting touches that will make your wedding unique and fun, without necessarily making it a “themed” wedding.  My Fiance and I are throwing in some similar nerdy touches.  My Fiance is a huge comic-book and star wars fan, so I’m making him a light saber cake cutter, and we’re naming the tables after planets in the star wars galaxy.  Also, as Justice League Unlimited fans, we’re using Green Lantern and Wonder Woman figurines as our cake topper.  Fiance had the Green Lantern figurine for years, and he bought me wonder woman when I moved in (while not a brunette, I have dressed up as WW for halloween and generally think she is badass).  They hang out by our TV now, but for the wedding, i will put a veil on WW ๐Ÿ™‚

So I think your comic book touches are awesome, and it sounds like your wedding will be too!  Also, once you check out offbeatbride, you might have a better idea of why people are a bit suprised/hestitant/taken aback by when you say spiderman/black cat wedding.  They are totally imagining you guys getting married in costumes!!

I love those shoes and the art piece is super awesome! I totally thought Spider Man as soon as I saw it. I think people can see your theme and those closest to you will realize that you have spun a perfect wedding made for you and your fiance! ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it’s an awesome idea. I love going to weddings where the couple incorporating things that they love into their wedding. For us it was musical theater, which can be really cheezy if over done. I think it will be fantastic and you both will have such great memories of your wedding day because you went with what you wanted. Ps LOVE LOVE LOVE the shoes
