Hi all– I’ve made a couple earlier posts, when I was sure I was pregnant, but now I’m at 72 days off birth control pills and it feels like my body is stalled. No period, no regular CM patterns (have had fertile CM probably once every week or two weeks).
I went to a gynecologist, who gave me a routine exam and ordered bloodwork for testosterone levels, FSH, and TSH (thyroid).
She said everything was normal and to just keep waiting to see what happens, but in the office she kept telling me that a very high percentage of women get their periods back after 2-3 months and because I was having other symptoms, like weight gain, acne, light cramping, mood swings, etc, she was concerned.
My testosterone level is near the high end of the standard range, and I’m not sure if that indicates anything, but she did say everything was normal.
Here are the results, if that helps :
My level: 45.45 ng/dL
Standard range: 2.9-48 ng/dL
levels were at 4.2 mIU/mL (so it looks like I could be in either the follicular of luteal phase?):
Follicular Phase: 3.5- 12.5 mIU/mL
Ovulation Phase: 4.7- 21.5 mIU/mL
Luteal Phase: 1.7- 7.7 mIU/mL
Postmenopausal: 25.8-134.8 mIU/mL
I’ve been reading about vitex and other herbal supplements to help regulate hormones and start ovulation, but I’m not sure if I need that or if there are any dangers to that (I saw a few things about miscarriage risk after stopping those supplements when pregnant because a hormone level suddenly drops).
I’m just getting impatient, not only to get pregnant, but also to know that my body is OK and I won’t have to struggle with this for a long time.
I stopped using OPKs because I went through a couple boxes of those and several boxes of pregnancy tests and it’s becoming expensive and frustrating.
I’m going to start temping soon to see if that gives me any clues about what’s going on…does anyone have any suggestions?
