I’m new to the Hive and this is my first official post! When fiancé and I had “the ring” talk, I knew he wanted to get me the ring I wanted. Although, I knew he had the means to buy me an impressive diamond, I would much rather us put that money, towards a house. His intention to want to, was enough for me. It took some convincing, but he agreed to what seemed (to him) the crazy idea to get a diamond alternative. My heart was set on an Amora Gem, but since not available yet in US, we decided on an Asha as a stand in until next year. Well, he received the ring (I had no idea of when) and he was very impressed! I had a beautiful proposal a few weeks ago and love, love, love my ring! Here are the ring specs. Diamond setting from Ashadiamonds.com center stone is a RB 2.5 carat H Asha. This baby sparkles like crazy! One last thing, with our lifestyle (I’m a biz owner, fiancé is is consultant for trauma and vascular surgeons) and where I live (Miami) my ring is appropriate and does not look gaudy. No one has questioned it, even a client I have, that is in the jewelry biz. Just compliments, compliments, compliments! I know Asha is not a forever stone, but I know it’ll look great until I get my Amora Gem next year! Hope this post is helpful to any Bees out there considering Asha until AG!

I too received my ring from ashadiamonds.com with a diamond setting and asha center stone. I had it for nearly two years until I replaced it with an Amora Gem center. I now have my Asha in a pendant and still adore it. As long as you take care of your center stone it can really last.
Congrats on the proposal!

Your ring looks very nice and I am glad you are pleased with it (as i was one day too), BUT within months of wearing it, the cheap cz center will scratch and show signs of wear. It will look like a $10 CZ and when you go to Asha (www.betterthandiamond.com) to complain about it, they will say “its your problem” because we DO NOT OFFER ANY WARRANTY on your ring.
And if you think you can complain about it anywhere….good luck as they are not a credited BBB member any longer. Dreams do fade away with Asha! I had to learn the hard way.

http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/keep-away-from-asha-created-by-betterthandiamond-com/#axzz38zR6i5St

Please stop spamming the Bee with your negative review of the Asha. The blame, if on anyone, would be on you as an uneducated consumer. You failed to do your research on the lifespan of an Asha (customers have reported the need to replace the Asha CZ after x months – years. And the warranty/return information can easily be found on Asha’s website).
At the end of the day, you bought a CZ — which is not a forever stone in any form. It is susceptible to scratching and clouding. Buy a Moissanite or Diamond if you want a forever stone.

Thanks for “heads up”, but I am a big girl, and have done my homework… If you read my post, you’ll see that I talked about this being my stand in stone, until Amora is available… Which is a couple of months.. Up to now, my stone still looks amazing.. I treat it gently and clean it properly. I never intended to have this stone for more than a year. But, I think it’s a great alternative to a budget conscious, Eco friendly consumer. Sorry you had a bad experience.
