- Wedding: September 2012
I don’t care much for the idea of buying expensive flowers to throw at people. If they’ve flown to the wedding, they won’t be able to take them back home. If the flowers are real or delicately arranged, they likely won’t survive hitting the ground. And flowers hitting someone the wrong way can really hurt, fake or silk! If I’m going to buy something just to effectively give it away, and I ultimately don’t know who’s getting it, why not get something everyone will like and keep?
I stole the idea off another site of throwing cute little plushies instead of flowers. Stars and swirls are part of my theme, so I thought cute plush stars in some fabrics I’ll be using would be a neat idea. The wonderful Etsy crafter who made them ended up having enough fabric to make 6, so I’m not quite sure what I’ll do with all of them! But I intend to toss at least 2 or 3 with gift cards tied to them. I mean, who wouldn’t dive for a cute little plush worth $25 at Starbucks??
These were wonderfully made for me by DarcyArts of Etsy. 🙂
Other bonuses… It won’t be awkward if a child catches one. And it also just amuses the heck out of me to say that I have throwing stars.
