So, ever since I asked for a timeline, SO has really not wanted to give me anything specific because he doesn’t want me expecting it. He REALLY wants it to be a surprise.
Last night, we were talking about getting engaged. I asked if I’d be getting my hopes up thinking it might be this year. He didn’t really give a specific answer. He says if he said 2013 we’d get engaged and November comes along, I’d figure out when he’d be doing it. Anyways, I tried to widen the timeline to 1.5 years, which he agreed to!
He says it could be 3 months, 8 months, or 1.5 years! I’m hoping it’s sooner, rather than later because as he mentioned above, if he waits over a year from now, the timeline will start narrowing it down.

Sounds like a plan.
Now hon, ya gotta leave it alone… check out the SIU Pact post onn the WAITING BOARD if you haven’t already… for support. And Mr Bee’s famous post for how to handle the interim.
CONGRATULATIONS… a Proposal is in the works.

@memo: yay!!! I remember when my boyfrieha gave me a timeline of 6 months I thought that was FOREVER!!!!! 1 month left and he says it’ll happen in the timeline still!!

@memo: That’s great! Whenever you start getting impatient, think of how quickly 2012 flew by – then realize that’s how quickly a year goes by. Your proposal will be here before you know it. 🙂 Leave it alone so that you can genuinely be surprised. 😉

@memo: OMG this is awesome news! 18 months isn’t a long time either 🙂 get good at manicures and the engagement chicken to hurry things along 😉 yaaaay so happy for you!!! What’s happening about your ring? Did you decide if you will pick it or help or if he wants to do it all solo?

@Corgi-cariad: We did look at rings last year together, so he’d have a general idea of what I like. He also told me I could e-mail him some photos for ideas. He wants to do the picking out himself though.
He also told me I could look into venues and start pricing things out if I wanted to too!

that is great! I feel like a real timeline takes the pressure of waiting off a little (it did for me at least).
