- Wedding: October 2013
Hi everybody. I have been reading these forums for a couple of months but I finally uploaded my proposal photos to my computer today so I decided it’s a good time to share my story.
My now-fiance, Eddie, proposed on our one-year anniversary, May 21, 2011. For our first date, we had done this treetop adventure ropes course thing so we decided to go try a different one for our anniversary. I kind of had a feeling he was going to propose because he had been dropping some hints about something really expensive that he had to save for.
Anyway, we were on the platform right before the zipline to the ground when Eddie told me to wait at the top until he said to come down because he wanted to film me going down the tree so he wanted to have time to take out the camera. When I came down, he was holding the camera in one hand but he was holding something else in the other. He said he had a present for me and took out the ring. I was smiling and hugging him so he said “is that a yes?” I told him he hadn’t actually asked anything yet so I made him get down on one knee and actually ask the question first. But yes of course I said yes!
The ring is not what I thought I wanted but I love it now and I wouldn’t want anything else. His dad is a master jeweler and he designed it so I love that no one else has anything like it. The pink stones are pink sapphire because I love pink not because sapphire is my birth stone or anything (I was born in April so my birth stone is diamond anyway). I had been dropping hints to him that I wanted a pink sapphire instead of a diamond because I didn’t think we could afford a diamond but I didn’t realize that his dad was going to practically gift the ring to us.

This is the treetop adventure course thing. There were many courses but we only did the one because he proposed after the first one and my heart was beating too quickly to do another one. I thought if I had any more excitement I’d have a heart attack or something!
