Is the picture you took right after they curled it or after 30 mins?  Regardless, it is true that dirty hair will hold the curl better.  Did they spray as they were going along?  My stylist told me not to wash my hair the day of the wedding because dirty hair works better.  I would maybe do another trial with dirty hair, especially if you have fine hair (because if your hair is fine, it may be that the curls just will not hold).  It also looks like they could use a bigger barrell curling iron?

The trial should show you exactly how your hair is going to look the day of your wedding.  I wouldn’t trust her to do it right the day of if she didn’t do it right at the trial.  Have another trial or go to someone else for a trial.

@thehoneybear: It might just be my hair, but if I curl my hair when I am right out of the shower, it never holds very long. Did she use any product on you?

I think the style you chose is already super simple!

Is the problem the hold for you? That can be really tricky depnding on the type of hair you have. I had a touch up done right before I walked down the isle and it helpd a lot.

Thats the crappy thing about long hair, it weighs everything down!

Honestly I think it looks super pretty, but If you think you can do a better job and don’t trust her/him, try it yourself a few times… and maybe you or a friend could manage it!

@thehoneybear:  I’d definitely find a different stylist.  Sorry!

I always wash my hair right before curling it and it stays well depending on the product.  I think you should definitely get a different stylist for the wedding.  Run for the hills!! You have gorgous hair, btw! 🙂

@thehoneybear: With hair that long and thick, I think you need a base hold product and then spray as she’s curling. I would find another stylist and explain what happened the first time so you don’t have a repeat.

The girl who did my hair (same as yours – long thick and straight) used a big barrel iron and sprayed before and after, and my curls stayed until the next day, even after partying and then sleeping on them. I wish I could remember what she used
