This is my 1st trial run at making centerpieces for our reception. I will be having 14 tables and have a limited budget. This is what I was able to do for aprox $9.
3-24″ manzanita branches….free, they grow of FI’s grandparent property
6-flameless tealights…$2 ($1 per 3pk at the dollar store)
vase…$1 (at the dollar store)
blue stones…$2 ($1 per pack at the dollar store…should probably use 3 packs)
mini lights…$2 for the 20 light string (regularly $4 but used a 50%off coupon)
batteries for mini lights…$1 at dollar store
curly willow…blue and silver….estimating at $.50…(purchased enough for all 14 centerpiecces for about $8 at joannn’s after xmas sale @ 70%off)
silver spray paint for the manzanita branches…estimating at $.50 per centerpiece (each can was $3…bought 3 cans which will do more than I need)
votive holders…still need to buy….but I will either buy used or use a coupon to purchase.

Not bad chic! SO lucky to have the manzanita on a farm! Everypone wanted $20-36 for them! I found mine for $9. Check craigslist for votive holders, ocasionally you find someone trying to get rid of their wedding stuff ( this was how i got over 100 for $5! ). I used coupond for my crystal garlands too:) How funny I was considering spray painting mine silver too…were your branches sandblasted?

Looks nice! My one manzanita display ran me close to $50 when it was all said and done.

yeah, mine will be from $40-50 if I add two 6 foot garlands to each centerpiece. If I keep it at 1 garland of crystal it will be $40….times 25 tables
ugh see now THIS is why I wanted to elope:)

The spraypaint does have a little texture to it. I have totally been trolling craigslist for the votive holders…I am not planning on spending much on them. I know how lucky I am to have the manzanita available to cut as I please. It is sooo expensive to buy online!
Do you have any pics of your centerpieces…I cannot get enough inspiration pics!!

The only pic I have is of the manzanita in the background. It should atleast give you an idea, though. Don’t mind the crappy photoshopped seating chart. It was much prettier pre hackjob-edit…
I bought the branches from Blooms and Branches. They were like $30ish for a set of 2. I got the amber colored glass vase from Marshalls for $11 and I had the glass jewels lying around. The hanging crystals, which I got out of the jewelry making section of Michaels, were around $15 for 6 strands after coupon and the flowers were $3 a stem but I only needed 2. Looks like it was closer to $60 but worth every penny. Thankfully I was only making one for our gift/seating table. I wouldn’t have been able to swing that for each centerpiece!

@misskittykakes: Wow, girl, you are on the ball! They’re going to look so lovely when all the lights are dimmed. 🙂

Those look awesome! I love them!
Have you thought about checking for some after Christmas sales on votives holders? I bought 48 white/ivory votive candles for $5 at walmart and white taper candles for .30 each at Jo Ann’s. Just a thought!
Do you have a habitat Restore in your area? They always have tons of votives and stuff around here and they cost abou .15-.25 each from what I’ve seen. That is if you don’t mind some variation in holders. If your wedding is in October you have some time to stock up on them.

Here are the manzanita trees I made (2 of them) to go next to the head table at the reception. They are each 6′ tall and I am planning on covering the cement in the planters with some type of crushed crystals or possibly flower petals?? I think they are going to look great with our centerpieces. (I just threw the lights on to get the effect…I will probably use twice as many lights on each tree) Sorry not the best pic!!

I love your urn! i vote flowers to cover the cement. Those were in my fav pics I found on the internet of manzanitas.

Actually, I think that amount of lights is perfect! It still lights up quite a bit! As far as covering the cement, I vote for having a layer of flower petals and then having some crushed crystals on top of that! 🙂

I really like the last picture the best as I love LOTS of lights. I ordered some branches off of Ebay and am waiting on them to arrive. My wedding is in september so I still have plenty of time to get it the way I want it to look… I made several strands of crystals, different lengths and sizes — I am not sure yet whether I will paint the branches or leave it natural.
What type of lights did you use? Did you use small white christmas light strands or get some sort of lights that run on batteries? thanks so much
Also, your urn is very pretty.
