I wanted to give my update because if you have been following my “story” you know it’s been a wild ride lately.
Well, the latest: he mentioned the ring all on his own. We had dinner with some friends of mine who are engaged. They know a guy who sells rings… and it turns out I know of this man myself from the past. But, the exciting part is my SO said “let’s see if we can’t go see him for ourselves.”
I said, “really?” He said, “yes, let’s go see what he has.
Turns out we misunderstood – he doesn’t sell diamond solitaires…just gold, silver and the like. But, the important part is him saying “let’s go see him.”
I think it’s really going to happen … maybe not tomorrow, but sooner than I thought. He is VERY OFTEN and much more so than usual saying “I love you.” He initiates it. A LOT!! To the point where it’s standing out.
It’s like I have a new SO or something…..

I love when other couples or friends say something engagement related and it sparks something in our SO’s. It shows that they’re genuinely interestedcurious. The fact that he brought it up on his own is great too. He probably wants to get an idea of what you like and how to go about doing things. I find that men need a little ‘nudge’ of motivation from us women sometimes to get them going. After that, they’re on their own and they get really into it and focused. Kinda like learning to ride a bike…
Sounds like things are looking up! Keep us updated!!

@OmigoshesGrrrl: LOVE IT! Sooo true. Once my guy’s friends started getting married, and then asking him for advice on proposing… well shit, it’s the best thing ever!

Yes, I think they did encourage. My friend’s ring, get this, is 4 carats. OMG – a big fat blue diamond. I certainly am not looking or expecting anything such as that. I just want a dang proposal and a ring. I prefer an antique style, square solitaire, with diamonds on the band maybe. Something white gold for sure!
This is fun and too exciting. We’ll see if he mentions it this weekend. We only see each other on weekends because we live an hour apart.
I will also say that he’s being more cheap than usual..I’ve noticed that. Fine with me, I hope it’s because he’s saving for a ringypoo

So exciting! This is EXACTLY how my hubby started acting soon before he proposed. He brought up ring stuff on his own and took me to look at rings which never happened before. It was always me who initiated any convos about rings.
He was also being more affectionate and sweet in the weeks leading up to the proposal. On the day he proposed, he was telling me all day long…every chance he got that he loved me and was being super affectionate. The proposal came that evening. *Fingers crossed*

Ohhhh. I hope you’re right ccflowers. At night when we sleep…he gets upset if I’m not touching him. He’ll say “hey, make sure you’re touching me.” And on every phone message he ends it with “I love you.” which, used to happen about every 5-10 messages.
Him’s so cute!!!!!!!!!
