I’d work by process of elimination. But I can’t really help because I haven’t tasted half those flavours.  A traditional UK wedding cake is a dense fruit cake with marzipan and fondant icing.

For frosting when in doubt go with butter creme. It’s a no fail and always tastes great. Fondant is a love or hate, theres no real in between. I personally hate it, find it rather tasteless and the consistency is just weird. Chocolate ganache is really yummy, but can be very rich.

All the cake options and fillings are classics, and I can’t think of one I don’t like. Red Velvet is always a safe bet with cream cheese filling, white amaretto is a personal fave of mine and the vanilla or bavarian creme would go really well with it. Third choice would be carrot and cream cheese, so yummy!!! Your baker has lot’s of yummy options, you can’t go wrong with any of it in my opinion.

The option I will suggest is one of the combos we had in my wedding cake (each tier was different) marble cake and raspberry filling! It was amazing! Of the other options you have, love the sound of champagne with strawberry filling or chocolate/chocolate fudge with either chocolate mint/peanut butter creme filling. With any of these flavor combos I would do buttercream frosting. Fondant looks nice but taste like shit and you’re not really supposed to eat it (bad for digestion, similar to gum), and chocolate ganache would taste yummy but my taste just prefers a lighter colored cake than that aesthetically.

Yumm. I would pair lemon and vanilla creme, red velvet and cream cheese, and chocolate and peanut butter creme. All with the classic butter creme frosting!

@CoronaSpeaks:  I would do these 4

  • #1) Traditional White Wedding Cake:  French Vanilla with Raspberry creme filling and   buttercream frosting
  • #2) Southern Favorite: Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese filling and buttercream or cream cheese frosting
  • #3) Rich Chocolate Option:  Chocolate cake with Peanut Butter creme and Chocolate Ganache
  • #4) Fruity Option: Strawberry Cake with Bavarian Creme and Buttercream frosting

I’d want to try the chocolate/peanut butter cream combo.  I also would try lemon and either vanilla cream or red raspberry.  champagne with either strawberry or raspberry.  red velvet with cream cheese.

I’m not a fan of either white/vanilla or fondant, but I’m sure there are nice combos using those options as well.
