So the venue I fell in love with, an affordable (yet classy) ballroom in a converted Victorian Inn is now being converted into… something else. The manager didn’t elaborate on what, only saying that it was going to be “something else” by the end of the year. Guess it’s a surprise?
I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’m heartbroken over it, but I am super bummed. It had everything I wanted! It was near downtown, it was elegant and small (so I lost that excuse not to invite everyone and their mom). Their wedding packages were within our limited budget and didn’t require me to seek outside catering or a bartender, plus they had a pastry chef on staff to make our cake. They included basic linens, flatware, decor, etc. I was thrilled to find it because it took away so much of the responsibility and hassle that comes with planning a wedding.
The silver lining is that I only purchased our card box and guestbook (which are customizable), since I had planned to mirror the venue’s Victorian look in our decor. Even so, I’m feeling sad that my awesome venue is gone before I could even book it. Blargh.
