Beautiful ring! I’ve been engaged since July and at first I was always worrying about things like that but honestly after a couple months I don’t think you’ll be so paranoid! So your ring is a Vera wang from Zales? If so, did your fi buy the warranty? My fi got the warranty and it covers everything except for the little sapphires Vera wang puts on her rings. Having the warranty lets me relax because it covers everything from a missing center stone, to chips, to someone stealing it!!

@Pam0927:  having a halo with that many small stones, you are bound to lose a few over time. That is the nature of pave. Don’t stress too much, replacement for small stones is pretty inexpensive. Make sure to take it to the jeweler to be checked every few months, then they can tighten prongs as needed. I have had a few different halos and have lost several stones from each, it’s a bit annoying but it’s the price you pay for having a pretty halo.

Just enjoy your engagement! Congrats!

@Pinkypez:  You’re right about it not being super expensive to replace those tiny stones. My jeweller said it would be around $40 for a pave stone replacement. I would rather do that pay as you go replacements and get a really good jeweller to do it, rather than pay a blanket warranty to Zales who sends it out to who knows where and could come back looking really crappy.

I love your ring!! It’s stunning. I must say I have a delicate halo ring and have lost 3 stones, almost a 4th. My jeweler replaced all of them under the warranty though.  WHen I was at Kay jewelers on VDAY the jeweler looked at my ring under his microscope thing and saw one getting ready to come out. He showed me. So I went to my jeweler the next day (Didn’t wear it to work) and had him check the prongs and he said it was barely hanging on there. You are supposed to get your prongs checked at least every 6 months and depending on the wear it just depends on the person if they will lose stone. Good luck!!

I have a super delicate micropave ering and matching wedding band (1.7 mm width for both bands). I have a halo and a 3/4 eternity band for my ering and a full eternity band for my wedding band. They’re both handset in platinum. I’ve had my ering for more than two years and I haven’t lost any diamonds yet. During my cleanings, they check to make sure nothing is loose and so far, everything is fine.

I do agree that losing a diamond is something to worry about, but it depends greatly on the integrity of the setting itself. My jeweler specializes in pave/micropave settings and guarantees it for life so I don’t worry all that much. That being said, I don’t do any strenuous activities with my rings, such as heavy lifting, and I have a regular desk job, versus manual labor.

@Pam0927:  zales doesn’t do the repair, Vera wang does! I had to resize my ring and they sent it back to Vera wang because apparently she refused to let anyone touch her rings, so I think you’re fine

@Pam0927:  it was annoying to have it take longer. I assumed a week to have it resized and they told me up to 11 weeks!!! I think the woman was an idiot, I got my ring back in less than 3 weeks

@Pam0927:  haha yeah I don’t wanna be away from my ring for more than a few minutes so 3 weeks felt like forever…especially since I had just gotten engaged! I’m sure you’ll be fine, make sure you have them check your prongs often, the ring is really beautiful
