You are not crazy. I ordered mine early too. I sent mine out 10 months ahead of our actual wedding date. I figured the more notice I could give out guests the better. Don’t listen to anyone that tells you it is too early. Your wedding will be here before you know it and you will want to relax as it gets closer.

wait…you got an “already?” for the STDs? are you contemplating not sending them?

I just sent out my Save-The-Date Cards and my wedding is April 16, 2011. not too early at all.

It’s definitely not too early. They’re Save-The-Date Cards not invitations. Even if they’re not beautiful they will serve their purpose and no one will remember them.

Yeah, don’t worry about it! You’re not the only one who has done this!  I, too, have ordered my Save-The-Date Cards .. and I’ve basically got a full year left before my wedding in August!  If you’re anything like me, you want to get ahead of the game. I know, personally I get super stressed easily so I figured the more I do now, the less I have to worry about later.  I’m not sending our Save-The-Date Cards out right away, but I don’t see the harm in ordering them early at all!!

My wedding is in May and I’m getting mine ready now. But about 30 of our guests are out of towners so they’ll need time to make travel arrangements.

I don’t understand the “already?” comment…. isn’t the point of STD’s to send them out 6-12 months in advance?  You know, to save the date?  I think you’re right on time my dear.  My wedding isn’t till September 2011 and I’m doing to be ordering mine very soon and sending them out in January.

I don’t think its too early at all!!! Mine is at the end of May and I’m hoping to get them out in the next couple of months.  By the way, how did you like Vista Print? I’m planning on using that for mine also!

mine were sent out in June. i figured the more time they had the better, considering my Fiance has a lot of family out of town and we are also being married memorial day weekend.

StDs are a fairly new thing – most people don’t actually know what they are. Likewise, if you’re not a follower of all things wedding like us bees, it’s highly unlikely they realize that wedding things need to planned so far in advance. I’d just joke back with a “Ya! April’s a busy month for wedding and things fill up fast!”

Exx: my mom was thinking that we would order the wedding cake two weeks before the wedding – like you would a birthday cake. /facepalm

@cosmocity: Im glad that you are deciding to send them back…i proofed and re-proofed mine…i know its just a save the date but im a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like that! Just send them out when you get your brand new pretty magnets! 🙂 and meanwhile you can start collecting addresses!

I get the “Already?!” almost every time I say I’ve done something wedding related.  I don’t get it either!  I guess people just don’t realize how quickly the time goes! Sending them 5months out is perfect!
