I don’t think you need to thank your man for showing up lol. I love the cute, funny remarks that really bring the two of you together, though. Good job!  I still have 100 days to go (but who’s counting?) and I’ve been finished with my vows for a while, I’m sure I’ll start having second thoughts the closer we get!

The only part I don’t like is the “thank you for coming.” It sounds off, and a little too formal. I would change it to: “Bob, I am so happy to be here with you today” or something similar.

I don’t like when you say your friends and family will guide you through relationship hurdles – your relationship is sacred and the two of you need to resolve issues. That is just my belief though. I don’t feel that paragraph is intimate enough to just the two of you.

I love the jokes and I think it sounds heartfelt and warm overall 🙂

I think they are really sweet, but I agree that you don’t need to start by thanking him for coming.  (Unless that is some sort of inside joke, which is probably still inappropriate because no one else will get it.)  I think they are really beautiful, and can tell them come from the heart.  I especially love “I promise to spend today and the rest of my tomorrow’s earning the way you look at me when you don’t think anyone else is watching.”  Perfection!

@FortiesFlare:  Hm. If I have creative freedom to change it altogether, I’d say something like, “With all of our friends and family as witnesses to our union, I stand before you today to make promises that I will spend the rest of my life fulfilling. Ever since I met you, I’ve tried to be the best partner I can be, and that will only get stronger now that I have become your wife.”

It’s hard because I don’t know your relationship, but I like how that sounds better. It includes your family and friends, but not as a focus. You are the focus! 🙂

@FortiesFlare:  Yay!! 😀 I figured you would have to personalize it, but at least it’s something to start with. I get writers block too, especially after I’ve already written something one way and it is too hard to imagine it sounding any other way, lol.

@FortiesFlare:  I’ve already written mine, and I want to read them to FI so badly! That would kind of ruin the moment though 😛 I am not an emotional person AT ALL, but I actually cried when I wrote them. That is not a good sign :- lol. I am going to be a crying idiot up there! FI isn’t going to write his at all – he says he will just speak from the heart. I could never do that – I need to have something prepared or I’d panic. I’m anal though and he’s very laid back.

is pure perfection!

I would love to see how your final edit with regards to the intro paragraph.
I love to your promises. The idea of constant change is something that really stands out for me.
