My wait is finally over! I’m so excited and definitely still on cloud nine. The wait was hard, but like you all said, it was so worth it.
I had thought there was no way it was going to happen for another month or so, due to us both having so much going on every weekend from now until almost September. Our anniversary was last weekend, but we didn’t get to celebrate due to me being out of town, so he told me we were going to celebrate the following Friday (this past Friday).
We went to dinner at our favorite restaurant, which is also where our first date was at. During dinner, he told me that he had saw something that he wanted to check out while on a motorcycle ride earlier in the week, so he said we were going to explore that after dinner. It was a spot near the lake in our city, so we drove down there and started walking on a trail and found a spot right next to the lake. We just visited and goofed off a little, and started walking away from the lake. He then said he wanted to take some pictures, and he pulled out our selfie stick (totally not like him, I’m normally the one wanting pictures). We took a few pictures, then he said he wanted to go back by the lake to take some there. So, we walked back to the lake, took some pictures, and he told me happy anniversary. He started asking me what some of my favorite memories of the last year were, and we just kinda reminisced some of the memories we’d made together. He then told me that all of those memories were great, but that tonight was going to be his favorite! He said a bunch of really sweet things, then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I kinda blacked out during the last bit of it, and I was shaking so much that it was hard for him to put the ring on, ha!
We then went for ice cream (what we did after dinner on our first date), then went and told my family, then his the next morning.
I’m so excited to finally share with you all! And of course, the best part.. pictures of the ring! I absolutely love it.. I’ve taken so many pictures of it, but I’ll only share a few 😉
(Sorry for the huge pics)
