I absolutely hate surprises. I’ve never liked surprises. So logically, I have a man that wants to surprise me. It’s sweet. And I love him for. But damn it dude, I’m sick of just being girlfriend.
He has the ring. He had asked my parents. His parents call me their daughter in law. Everyone knows we plan to get married. I just hate the word girlfriend because I think it’s a juvenile word to describe our current position.
So, I’m just having a frustrated day I guess. He keeps dropping hints that is will be soon, but then other hints that it won’t be trying to throw me off I guess. But I honestly hair surprises. In a type A control freak med student.
That said, I love him and he is the best guy ever and I’m not bashing him or mad at him in any way

LittleE3: use partner. That’s how I referred to Fiance after I moved in but before we got engaged. Manfriend was also popular. He didn’t like either so I didn’t have to wait long.

bitsybee: I could try that. I mean He proposed August at the lastest. But the not knowing when is what kills me.

LittleE3: While I was waiting, I used to tell him about what I’d do to the apartment once he moved out. (The agreement was always whoever didn’t want to get married would have to leave our apartment)
I would create Amazon wish lists and stuff. Some might say it was passive aggressive, but I was showing him that I wasn’t going to wait for him to propose forever. I had fun and enjoyed building our relationship together BUT I was also prepared for a future without him in it. And that would be awesome too.
Now that we’re engaged, the Amazon wish lists are the basis of our registry because everyone could use a nice bamboo cutting board 😉

LittleE3: sorry type A med student id imagine you have lots of studies to focus on! Try to relax and be loving with him maybe he will do it sooner, frustration and pushiness are usually pretty detectable and not attractive.
