I have a counter full after this wait!  They don’t last long with me.

But we have a “special” bottle of wine.  A local vineyard we both love stopped making our favorite wine.  They actually ripped the grape vines out of that variety because the grape wasn’t growing well in Virginia and they chose to plant a higher producing grape.  (screaming to myself).  I bought the last 2 bottles the vineyard had left for public sale and called every wine shop they sold to.  I ended up with 6 bottles.  Now, if you leave wine with me, it’s going to be drunk.  Especially if the wine is following more wine.  I am aware of my faults so I asked SO to keep one at his house and to HIDE iT WELL, to never tell me where it was and to never get it out no matter how much I begged.  I told him that bottle was for a very very special occasion, winkwink.  I meant for our engagement that is hopefully happening this month.  Last weekend his parents came in after Thanksgiving and his mom and I cooked a Thanksgiving meal on Saturday.  He ASKED IF HE SHOULD BRING IT. (more screaming to myself).  I guess he didn’t get the winkwink associated with the special occasion.  I asked if Thanksgiving with his parents (they don’t even drink red wine, it’d be just for us) was the most special thing happening in the next few months.  “Oh, yeah, uhm, I’ll stop at the store and buy some”. (repeat screaming on the inside).  Yell

@Koifish:  THIS is an excellent idea. SO and I like to drink, not in excess but we enjoy a good beer. I think i’ll stick a special bottle of vino in the fridge just for me. 🙂 He hates whine so maybe he’ll get the hint *nudge nudge*

@Koifish:  LOL this is a WONDERFUL idea!!

And I second this notion…it’s worked for me.  There have been more than a few waiting nights where it’s easier to pour a full glass of wine, draw a bubble bath and seperate myself from my SO because well, that’s much easier than fighting or getting whiney–instead you can get wine-y lol!!

Great thread! Smile
