I have a huge decision to make and I keep going back and forth! I know I am being dramatic and this is really a fun thing to have to worry with. My engagement ring is so beautiful-I love it so much and it is perfectly unique for me. It does have a unique shape to it so a flat wedding band will not sit flush on it. It is very vintage-looking-my fave!!! When I first saw the ring where it was designed (after I absolutley fell in love with it), I thought-"oh no!" I love it, but what will I do for a wedding band??? These are my options:
a. No band-just wear the engagement ring because it is pretty enough to stand alone
b. Have a band custom made to fit against the ring by the jeweler who designed and made the engagement ring. If I choose this option, I have already spoken to the jeweler and he suggests a thin band with small channel-set round diamonds to match my ring.
c. Get a traditional wedding band, wear it on my right hand and then if I ever don’t want to wear the full on engagement ring, I can just wear the band on my left hand.

I would vote for C, but if it were me I would wear the traditional band on my left and the engagement ring on my right. That way you I would still get to wear two beautiful rings but would look more "married".
Whatever way you decide to go, it’s going to be gorgeous!

I think this post got duplicated. I commented on the other one!

I say either option B or C. I’m in the same boat- but I think I will choose B and then get a cheap normal band to wear when I’m not wearing the engagement band.

The ring is beautiful. I had a similar situation and had a jeweler make a band to fit my engagement ring. I also find the band sort of anchors my engagemnt ring.

B- I think it’ll look really nice! Here’s an inspiration photo.

I vote ‘A’. It’s gorgeous, you don’t need anything else!

I vote secret option "D" — after the wedding, switch the engagement ring to your right hand, and wear a simple wedding band on your left hand. 🙂 But that’s only because I really want to have a wedding band. If it’s not important to you, then definitely just stick with that GORGEOUS engagement ring. I wouldn’t muck up the beautiful lines and symmetry of it by adding on another ring, although I’m sure you could find someone to custom make it for you.

I would do either B or C or both. I love the idea of having a custom band to wrap your engagement ring and wow it is beautiful. Maybe in the future you can get another wedding band to switch it out with if you prefer. I would definitely go for B if it were me. That is what I am going to do, but mine will be white gold on both sides of my e-ring. Then for future anniversaries down the road there maybe custom bands that flank my e-ring that are whichever gem we want. it is pretty versatile.

I would choose option B or C. I think it is important to wear your wedding band and it would be possible to wear it on your right hand. AND its really easy for jewelers to make rings to fit to engagement rings. They do it all the time and would be easy to get one custom fit to your ring.

I would do B – who doesn’t like a little but more sparkle? 🙂 By the way, that is a beautiful engagement ring!!

I would wear your engagement ring on your right hand and a wedding band of your choice on your left. That gives you the option of wearing the wedding band alone which you would not have as much if you got one custom made to the shape of the e-ring.
p.s. I love your engagement ring! It’s gorgeous! (and nice to see another Chelsea on weddingbee) 🙂

I vote for option D – wear a wedding band on your left hand and your gorgeous engagement ring on your right!

I second option D.
I am in love love love with your e ring. I drooled over similar rings before picking mine out. I ended up with a similar center setting but the band is straight so it will fit with the wedding band. Had I gone with the more elaborate band on my e ring I would have worn it on my right hand after the wedding.
Have I mentioned that I love your ering?
