My fiance proposed to me WAY back in December 2007. So it’s been 3 years (nearly) since he bought my ring. We weren’t sure if the jewelry store would even still have my ring in stock so that we’d be able to buy the matching band. Both being super shy people, it took us months to build up the courage to phone the store. But, lo & behold, they had ONE matching band left! They told us the would hold the band for us for one week. Well the jewelry store just happens to be 3hrs away from where we live now so it’s not exactly an easy feat to just get up and drive there (especially with a 2 year old!). We ended up calling them and asking them to e-mail us a stock photo of the band. We fell in love. So we ordered it.
It arrived today. I love it in the box. But when I tried it on with my engagement ring, it doesn’t look right. The diamonds are smaller or the rose gold section is thinner or something. I don’t know.
The wedding band is a size (or two) too big so I hope that resizing it will help fix whatever the problem is that I have with it lol.

The thing that bugs me the most about it is how the edges don’t line up (like, the wedding band comes out further on the side than the e-ring). But that will probably be fixed by resizing it. Love rose gold, btw. 🙂 They look nice together.

It’s really pretty. Because of the scratches that naturally happen when wearing the ring, I bet once you get your engagement ring buffed, it will look better. Also the sizing will help. It’s really a beautiful set.

@Statutory Grape:Maybe THATs what it is! I can’t put my finger on the thing that’s bothering me about it. But I REALLY hope that gets fixed when it gets resized. I want them to match, dammit! Lol.

Is it possible the e-ring is just a little more well-worn, and the wedding band is still shiny and new? The wedding band definitely looks bigger, but I’m sure that’ll be corrected with sizing.

@sudslover:Oh my e-rings needs a good cleaning so bad! It’s never been!

Yeah I think because its too big its throwing the look off a bit. I think once its resized the whole look with be more cohesive.

Looks like all can be fixed with a simple resizing! Gorgeous rings!

yep a good cleaning and a resizing it will be perfect sooo pretty I havent seen this before! U can clean with a tooth bruch and windex rince under warm water then pollishing cloth it will look alot better. The diamonds on eng. ring will look better once they r cleaner 🙂

Thanks so much girls. I’m starting to feel better about it now lol. The minor freak out was over nothing. I cant wait to get it resized and everything. How early is too early to get my e-ring buffed? It has never been in for a cleaning in the 3yrs I’ve had it :/

I think once it is resized it will be fine. Right now it look slike you put a man’s band on. It just looks too big. That’s all. It’s gorgeous though.

Hopefully resizing it will make you love it more! To me, it’s too wide in comparison to your e-ring, but that’s all personal preference. I like one ring to be skinny and the other one to be thick.

Sizing will definitely help make them line up and “match” better.
As for your question about timing for getting your ring cleaned/buffed- if you haven’t gone in 3 years I’d definitely go ASAP! The jeweler I got my ring from recommended coming in every 6 months to get mine cleaned and checked. (During cleaning they not only clean everything but they check all the settings to make sure no prongs are damaged or stones are loose.) The cleaning comes for free from my jeweler, so it’s no biggie, but I realize that may not be the case for all. If not, I’d say try to go in at least once a year to get it checked/cleaned. One of my co-workers does hers every year just before her anniversary, which I always thought was sweet.
