Not sure if this has happened to anyone else but- I did a make up trial before my wedding- it looked great. Day if it looked TERRIBLE! And unfortunately I was whisked our ofnthe chair and into my dress and immediately went into photos and never got to take a good look at myself. The egeshylooks unfinished and wasn’t the coloring I wanted and I have zero lipstick on! She had put on some lip primer so I assumed it was done. It wasn’t until I just got a few of the professional photos that I realized how bad it looks!
not sure how to remedy this in photos- is it even possible to fix?

You can can see the line down the middle of my eye- it’s bizarre

Steph2 : How do they look with your eyes open?
Overall, you look beautiful! I’m sure you’ll find many photos you are happy with. Have a conversation with your photographer about what you can and can’t address with editing.

Ok, so yes the eyeshadow is unblended, but also consider:
– The photo you posted is a super zoomed-in crop that likely doesn’t represent what most of your photos look like.
– Your eyes are closed in this photo, which again probably doesn’t represent most of your photos.
– Many people don’t think about makeup much and won’t be scrutinizing your eyeshadow. And I would guess that most people won’t be able to see the blending in the majority of photos even if they tried.
– Your liner, lashes, and brows all look great, even in the zoom-in.
So while I totally understand your disappointment that your look isn’t what you wanted and expected from your trial, hopefully you can find comfort in knowing that you still look beautiful, and there are likely many photos that look fantastic. Lashes and liner are what make the biggest difference to eyes in photos, IMO.
And if it makes you feel better, you could inquire with your photographer if a blend or blur tool could be used on your eyelids in photos where your eyes are closed. Would probably be too obvious in super close up shots, but maybe it could work in the zoomed out version of the photo you posted above, for example.

I can’t imagine there are many pictures with your eyes closed so I’m sure it looks fine in 99% of photos and just a bit off in this one.

Your eyelashes look so nice…and I think your lips look pretty.

Thanks! I asked my photographer and it would be an additional cost to edit. Also just frustrating because they weren’t supposed to be a dark shade, but the lighter rose gold 🙄 but thank you for all the comforting feedback!

I think overall you look great! Yes, I can see where she could have blended the eyeshadow a bit more, but with your eyes open it’s probably not all that noticeable. I think the rest of your makeup looks really nice. The lips don’t bother me either- if it makes you feel any better, I did my own wedding makeup and forgot to touch up my lipstick before the ceremony, so most of my pics don’t have lipstick either!

spilledmilk : that’s does make me feel better- thank you!

I think you look gorgeous! And I see the issue with the eye shadow but 99% of your pictures won’t be a close up with your eyes closed so it won’t even be noticeable. And I think your lips look just fine. I actually had to take a second look at the picture to see you didn’t have lipstick on and I wouldn’t have even noticed if you hadn’t said anything.

Steph2 : Awe I’m sorry you’re not happy with your day-of makeup OP! I think you look really beautiful though! I see the shadow is not really blended but I think your natural lip color is pretty! What if you chose just a few for your photographer to touch up? Maybe pick a few for photo gifts or ones you’ll hang on the wall; that way you dont have to pay for all of them, but those little things wont bother you every time you look at the pics you put up?

I agree with Charliejeorge! You lips look lovely naturally and even though the shadow isn’t blended I think it looks like beautiful colors! You have a super gorgeous face and I bet not zoomed in, no one would be able to tell that anything was unblended! Can we see some pics with your eyes open?

I see what you’re talking about with the eyeshadow but overall you look GORGEOUS and everything looks very well done. I think we are our own worst critics when it comes to our wedding looks. Don’t sweat it!!

Eyeshadow needs blending yes, but otherwise it looks nice to me.

Oh dear OP, but really this has to be the most insignificant wedding day ‘problem’ l have ever seen. As pps have said, the issue is only visible in close up with eyes closed and probably not even then to an untrained observer.
You are frankly beautiful, and perhaps this has led you to be overly critical and even insecure about your looks – it’s not unusual oddly enough.
As an older woman, all l can usefully say to you is do not waste another moment on this. In years to come you will look back and think ” why the fuck did l worry about my looks, l looked great” . I speak from experience, and l never looked as good as you in the first place.
