The manufactuer should send you another dress if they have one already made.  The bridal shop should have looked at the dress when they unpacked, but Maggie Sottero dresses are shipped inside out to protect the detail work, so perhaps the shop just didn’t see it. There’s a good chance that if you send the dress back you won’t get in a dress that is hollow to hem, but perhaps you can work out an alterations agreement with the initial salon.

Good luck!

I’m so sorry for your problems.  I can’t believe that they would send a dress with problems like that in the fabric.  I don’t think there is anything they can do in the time needed.  Maybe could you grab something off the rack?

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I honestly think that you shouldn’t try to send the dress back in hope that the manufacturer can clean it. They only said they would “try” not like “oh we know what that problem is from and we fix it all the time”. I think if you send it back it is highly likely that either a)they won’t send it back to you on time, even if they cleaned it. b)they will send it back in the same condition and said they tried but couldn’t do anything…or perhaps both! Also while your dress is in transit you won’t have peace of mind and you really don’t need that additional stress 12 days before your wedding!

If it were me I would try to harass the manufacturer to ship me a new dress that is closest to my saize (same style if possible or some other style that I’m ok with) if the have one already made. Then get the salon to rush the alterations which hopefully will be minimal if the size is close. If they really won’t budge I would keep the dress and suck up the marks but ask for a bigger discount. Worse comes to worse I’d suck it up and just take the 75$.

What MissAsB said is also a good idea, if you find something off the rack in the next coming few days that is usable go for it and try to return the dress for a full refund.

Where are you located?

Is there any detail work on the dress such as lace or beading? If the spots are that visible, any chance anything can be used to cover them so they look like they are part if the design? Can you post the pictures here so we can see and maybe offer some solutions?
