My wedding excitement comes and goes? Confused

Wedding planning is way more stressful than people realize, particulary when you’re trying to blend the wants of two families into one day that’s supposed to be about you and Fiance.

To be frank, I wasn’t super excited for the wedding at most points through planning. I’ve got a background in event planning so the whole process was right up my alley, but I wasn’t excited about it until the day of. And even then, it was more excitement about marrying Darling Husband than about the whole day.

I think it’s typical, especially when the planning is getting stressful/frustrating or even just when life is stressful. As long as you are still excited about the marriage I wouldn’t worry about the moments where you aren’t super excited about the wedding – those moments probably just mean you need a break from planning!

YES!  I wanted to elope on a weekday, and instead we are having a huge wedding on a Saturday.  I am excited to be married to my FH and I can’t wait to spend my life with him, but I’m not always thrilled about planning the wedding.

Absolutely! I think there’s entirely too much pressure put on one day so it’s inevitable that it’s really stressful and overwhelming. Even when i’m telling myself, relax! it’ll be ok. I get so stressed that people won’t have a good time.

This is exactly how I feel. More excited to be married than do the wedding. I have some days where the wedding is exciting, but I do have those feelings of dread that it won’t turn out well or something terrible will go wrong. I wish I could fast forward to the wedding day and just have it and be married already.
