Oh my goodness! Big hugs to you! As if wedding planning wasn’t stressful ENOUGH, right? Keep in mind the dress rehearsal philosophy mentioned above — the rockier the lead-up, the more fantastic the actual event!

And if it will make you feel better, find the Bee posts about the giant thunderstorm that almost flooded out her reception and knocked out the power, and how her guests had a fantastic time anyway. : )

Just laugh!  Oh you poor thing but I can totally sympathize.  I had the biggest series of horrible/sad/ridiculous events before my wedding day and now I just look back and smile!

My poor husband’s uncle passed away the Monday before our wedding.  I wasn’t expecting a lot of his family to show up on that side but was so blessed that they did.

A bridesmaid ended up in the ER the Wednesday before my wedding after getting so drunk at my bachelorette party she had to be hooked up to an IV!!

Another bridesmaid coming from the UK MISSED her flight because she forgot her passport, and only showed up the morning of my morning wedding!  We had to do all the rehearsals without her and we had a huge bridal party.  But she made it ๐Ÿ™‚

I had planned a huge outdoor ceremony-rented outside chairs, coughed up tons of money for a beautiful floral arch, rose petal aisle etc.  It was June in Cape Cod so you would think the weather would be nice.  Well, it had freakishly rained for 2 weeks leading up to my day so the back of the venue was a swamp, it had to be moved to the front, and they an hour before my ceremony it POURED so everything had to be moved inside last minute.  We lost tons of money, but everyone moved inside without complaining and the ceremony was very sweet and memorable.

We rented a trolly that was supposed to take us to the beach after the wedding for pictures.  It was my dream to have ocean pictures.  We paid for a full 3 hour rental on the trolly.  Well, it was raining so hard we just had it take us back to the hotel, and no pictures for me!

I also look like crap in all my wedding pictures because of all the stress in the week leading up to it ๐Ÿ™‚  But honestly it was still one of the best days of my life and I promise you will look back and laugh at it all!!!!

MAN!  Have you thought about writing this up as a screen play and selling it to movie producers? I know that it’s probably not funny now (and if I were you, I’d be COMPLETELY freaking out), but remember that at the end of the day….it’s you marrying your husband-to-be that matters.  Even if everything just goes down the crapper, you’ll still be marrying the love of your life!  Smile and big hugs!!!

I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with all of this.  Try and take the approach Charlotte and Harry did- everything that goes wrong just gets you further along in a happy marriage.  It sounds like you are almost guaranteed a golden wedding anniversary at this point!

Sheesh! If anyone deserves a break it’s you! I’d say that you guys need to call the bus company and demand that they do something about this…

I am SO sorry that things keep going wonky on you! Your bus ride sounds so cool! How far is it from the bridge to your venues? I’m trying to think of some way to fix the bus situation but I can’t think of anything… I would be SO mad too, that’s redonk that nobody told you beforehand.

Well, you’ll have something to look back and laugh at after the wedding (or even at – You could make a toast saying "You all have NO IDEA how good it is to FINALLY be here… You’d think I’m making it up if I told you all the things that went wrong" or maybe even mention "We were going to have to ask you all to hitchhike but luckily…". Although, sometimes it’s good if the guests are out of the loop. ๐Ÿ™‚
