These are too cute!  Haha thanks for the laugh! I am actually really tripped out about the tic-tacs though!  I have never ever seen that before….

I knew about Nutella and Tic-Tacs! The bobby pins are new to me, though.

That bobby pin thing isn’t accurate. If we were supposed to wear them that way all these years then why do they make the fancy ones with the designs on the wrong side, who wants a flower under their hair?

I must now get up, leave work, go to the store, and buy some tic tacs so that I can eat just one of them.

Have you all seen the one about the ketchup cups?? It ranks up there with tic-tacs!  I’ll look for it…

NUTELLA: It’s an Italian word, so it’s “true” pronunciation is with a pure vowel. It’s not really “new” or “newt” as Americans pronounce it (which is a dipthong), it’s a softer “u” sound, but still a long u (not a short u like in “nut”). Yes, it’s made from nuts, but it’s an Italian product and Italians don’t pronounce “nut” the way English speakers do.

Cool backstory on Nutella: It was developed during WWII as an ersatz form of chocolate (a chocolate substitute/extender). At that time, there was kind of a stigma attached to hazelnuts in Italy – people looked down on them and regarded them as the food of the poor. When they started adding them to chocolate in order to stretch out the supply, all of a sudden people were like, “Whoa – this stuff is really good!” and they became much more popular.

Nutellla was the only one I was aware of – I’ve always called it New-Tella but the rest of them – espeically the bobby pins is news to me. I want to go find a bobby pin now and test it out!

@Pokemon:  Yes to all of these LOL. I saw the Tic Tacs one recently and was quite shocked, and when I first heard Nutella commercials I was like wtf??? The bobby pins one now has me going. *Sigh*
