…just completed a fundraiser where she had to complete a 5 km walk. She got to wear a badge that said who she is running for and why. She wrote it herself and it says,
“I am running for my grandpa because I love him and he is very sick and I want him to live forever so my family is always happy.”
Her grandpa is my dad and this has been a challenging time for all of us. Little kids pick up on everything, even when you think they don’t.
This makes me smile and cry.

Have you ever seen a tricycle fund raiser? Talk about OMG adorable. Little toddlers on their tricycles ride around a track to raise money. Our friend’s son did a whole 5K on his red little tricycle. Yeah, I donated.

@MrsPanda99: What a sweetheart! I’m so sorry to hear about your dad, but it must make everyone smile to know how loved he is.

@Treejewel19: I absolutely would have donated to that, lol. It sounds adorable!
@excitedtobeMRSF: She is the most thoughtful little girl. If only her mother could take a page from her book 😛
@somethingaquamarine: Thank you. It has been tough. I think of him as the core of our family so it has not been the easiest adjustment. We have all pulled together though, which is nice.

Awww, what a sweet kid. Don’t you just love when young kids are so thoughtful and caring? You’re right…sometimes people underestimate how much they understand.
